Also a user found this from San Antonio – was from New Braunfels 20 minutes outside of San Antonio and would get the paper.

New Braunfels has an unsolved murder. https://stillunsolved.wordpress.com/tag/new-braunfels/

However, the rape and lack of weaponry makes me doubt any Zodiac link.

The Houston Henry/Atkinson murders involved rape, but the lovers lane element and handwriting comparisons are interesting.

One of the alleged Texas Zodiac letters.

Note the emphasis on Tom in Phantom. Could just be a coincidence with newspaper clippings, but thought I should share.

Yeah this really seems like a Zodiac taunt, with the Celtic crosses and the little quips like barrels of fun. Good find. I also found that Axe’s wife was in the Eastern Star Masonic group in 1986 at least. The black hood and chest cover from lake berryessa were probably old Masonic ritual mask and bib. I found photos and saved them on another computer. I think the clip on sunglasses he wore might be in reference to a Masonic Hoodwink.

But the Berryessa victims were shopping at the seventh day Adventist church rummage sale in St Helens before going to the lake which is literally steps from the Masonic Temple that was in use then and they say that the Victims from the first known attack where helping decorate for a Knights of Pythias event at the lodge in Vallejo before the Christmas attack.

I also have another bit on the Navy timeline but again I have to post it from the other computer.

All-seeing eyes and skeletons are a running theme in Freemasonry. Zodiac being a Mason would certainly account for his occult ritualistic strangeness. (This is not to say that Freemasonry is inherently evil, of course).

The symbolism in Freemasonry draws upon Ancient Egyptian gods representing the planets (the literal zodiac). The most important gods in that mythology being Isis and Osiris, gods of the afterlife.

Discussion from 2001 on a possible Masonic link. http://www.zodiackiller.com/mba/gzd/385.html

Rightly or wrongly what first got me thinking along these lines was the Halloween Card.I associated the 13 eyes on the card with the "all seeing eye" and the significance of the number 13 (as applied to Masonry)on the American Dollar bill.
We also have in Masonry the significance of the number 3.
Among the obvious associations are the 3 letters sent on the same date after the CJB killing. The first Cipher sent in 3 parts. But what about the LB crime?.Firstly it had a whole ritualistic feel to it.We also have Zodiac’s message "by Knife" which could also suggest Ritual. But possibly most important is the date and timing …27th day of the 9th month on the 6th day of the week at 6.30
All the above numbers are divisible by 3.
According to Graysmith Zodiac made his call at a point exactly 27 miles from the crime scene.
Other things of note:-
1.Zodiac’s 7th Letter had 7 pages claiming 7 victims. It was sent or received on a Sunday the 7th day of the week.
2.The 4th of July murder
3.Another Masonic symbol..the compass.Zodiac uses it in his bomb threat where he also gives us a cipher 32 characters in length…2nd Degree.!
4.Halloween card again…Your Secret Pal.
5.Bryan and Howard also made reference to other possibilities
6.Zynchronicity or Symbolism???
The Stine Murder……Most Masonic rituals include Stone.
Stine picked up Zodiac at MASON and Geary
His destination was WASHINGTON and Cherry.Washington a famous Mason.
The name Stine derives from German Stein meaning Stone.

the Masonic fraternity is represented by the oblong square with the soltice points at each corner with Osiris sitting in the center of the square as the "Lord of the Dead" this oblong square is called the Zodiac. Also Osiris is represented by the symbol Zodiac used. In the Osirian mysteries the sacred drama is carried out on a lake on a Saturday at the full moon. The ritual starts with the new moon and is completed at the full moon. The most sacred numbers in masonary are 3, 6 and 9. Everything in masonary is dependent on Sacred Geometry

The Tim Miller cipher letter is seen in this string, I believe is the writing of the Zodiac who I think has moved to the League City Texas area… I have deciphered this letter over a five year period
I will give you some answers to clues found in it… The star symbol then the word field means "Star field" Cracking that clue you will find is "where more bones are to come out"means and it is the Republic waste dump as their company symbol is a STAR! Zodiac dumped girls in a now closed Republic Waste dump in League city and they were covered up by trash and forever buried Similarities are also found in the Zodiac Case and the Tim Miller Killing Fields letters. I will share some paragraphs from a report… here goes

There are similar statements and phrases found in the 2005 Miller letter and the Zodiac letters that were sent to the San Francisco Chronicle and Examiner between 1969-1990.

Terms found in both letters, “Underground”… “I am”… “Police won’t get me as I am too smart”… “This monster in me”… “Blue Meannies”… “League City Blue fuzz”.

Other examples from both letters include Celtic cross symbols, “The Phantom” referred to in both cases and more.

The 2 upside down stars placed on the 2005 Miller letter are widely known as pentagrams. These pentagrams are zodiac signs. “An upside-down star is known as a pentagram, with two points projecting upwards.

“This is a symbol of evil and attracts sinister forces because it overturns the proper order of things and demonstrates the triumph of matter over spirit. It is the goat of lust attacking the heavens with its horns, a sign execrated by initiates”.. Source, Wikipedia.

The Cross identified as a Celtic cross (from photos found in Wikipedia). A known Zodiac sign

There is also an interesting internet post copied from a popular Zodiac website. The person posting is known as Morf13. He is the owner of the website Zodiackillersite.com. He has virtually reviewed every known public document on the Zodiac case and is considered a Zodiac case expert. In 2009 he compared the Zodiac ciphers to the 2005 Miller letter and he writes:

The person who wrote the Anonymous letter to Miller had knowledge of the Zodiac letters. They mentioned TOO many things that Zodiac mentioned. They used the same words. They designed the same style layout of the letters “The person didn’t pull those letters out of the air; make them by accident, or coincidence. There are two possibilities here and no other possibilities.

1- The writer of the letter is COPYING Zodiac, thus the term COPYCAT. But the problem I have with the writer being a copycat is, he doesn’t say anyplace in the letter "this is the Zodiac". This just doesn’t make sense. If you want people to think Zodiac is in Texas, you write "This is The Zodiac". He didn’t draw attention to himself as Zodiac. Also, a good Zodiac copycat would have used the crosshair logo and misspelled words like Zodiac did. But you don’t see any of that, and that’s why I don’t see it being a copycat. The "payoff" isn’t there. You don’t have the cops saying "oh my God, we are dealing with the Zodiac", so the copycat theory is unlikely.

2- The other possibility is that the writer IS ZODIAC, and in my opinion, this is the more likely scenario for the following reasons. Zodiac, if he moved to Texas, had gotten away scot-free. But would he quit killing cold turkey? I don’t think so, he’s a psycho, and gets off on it, and toying with the police too. So Zodiac, if he came to Texas, would still do some of his old tricks (Writing to the papers, and victims’ families, and using the same terms and words) But obviously, the ZODIAC name, as well as the CROSSHAIR SYMBOL would HAVE to be retired. If he mentioned the word Zodiac, or the symbols, he would have CA & TX cops on him pretty quickly. They would eventually find a suspect who lived in League City area and had lived in CA during the Zodiac attacks

So do you understand why Zodiac, if he was in TX would NOT want to call too much attn to himself? But at the same time, he wanted the attention, and he enjoyed jousting with the cops. Don’t forget, I also posted about the Houston case of Henry & Atkinson. They also got an anonymous letter. I looked at the handwriting, and although I am not an expert, I think it looks a lot like Zodiac. So if he DID turn out to be the writer of the Houston letter, why couldn’t he be the anonymous writer in the League City case, as the two towns are 30 minutes apart?” “Zodiac may not have killed ANYBODY in TX. But I believe that there is a strong possibility that he at least wrote the letters. He left little clues, not big enough for the cops to catch on, but he still got to torment them as he enjoyed doing”.

Serial killers are "haughty, arrogant and have monstrous egos," said Rustigan, who added that they are nonentities who gain fame through their crimes. Writing letters is one way they keep themselves in the public eye.

More from my Report

Report copy Redacted xxxxxxxxx’s Army military records; His first army job classification was “Army construction engineer” in November 1967. This 35th division is shown to be one of divisions stations at FT Ord California in the ’60s and ’70s. This Army base is south of San Francisco about 1 hr by car. Zodiac once referred to himself in a letter as “The Phantom, Red with rage” xxxxxxxxxx military records indicate he was originally trained as a construction engineer. He may know how to weld and operate a cutting torch. BTW, Regarding the Famous Zodiac hood, it appears to me the hood was made from a welders helmet that is made with a hot metal protective leather chest guard. XXXXXXXX had access to the base welding shop

The first time the Zodiac symbol was used in August 1969 and it is signed “no address” What makes me suspicious as the Zodiac Symbol also found on the Army’s 35th division and construction division patch, (RED) I suspect WAS his address.
