Does anybody know if History Channel is going to have a Season 2 or not? I enjoyed this series and like everyone else is anxiously waiting on the results the detectives were testing? Thanks.

No word yet…

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

I can not imagine why they would not want to produce many seasons of the show…

…though it would be nice to know for sure.

While the show had some of the expected flaws of a modern commercial television program, I actually enjoy it. Also, these television programs and networks have the resources and funding to investigate in ways which most of us would never be able, so all and all I think it’s beneficial to the investigation of these crimes, I hope to see more.

I was particularly thrilled that we’re going to actually compare known DNA samples to possible CJB blood evidence to at the very least see if it’s a match. That would answer so many questions. I’m a sucker for anything Zodiac. I want to know who this guy was.

For the future of the series, please refer to Hoax Island, Hinting Hitler, or JFK Unclassifiable. Sadly.

Exactly! These guys have the funding and resources To carry out testing and research which most of us would be unable, the DNA work would be particularly valuable, and I also found it quite intriguing.

I never watch actual television, I have amazonfireTV, so Netflix and Amazon is all I have access to, so, I purchased the entire season from Amazon, and when you can fast forward, and rewind, and when there are not any commercials, it really is much more tolerable.

With any modern commercial television program there are going to be aspects of it which you probably will dislike. There are going to be false promises, big build ups without payoff, tacky props and frivolous activities to fill episodes, as well as other things of this nature, and while it can drive you crazy, sadly, it’s the norm for this type of television. I try to simply focus on the positive aspects of the program. There is good topic matter, keeping in mind that the programmers must make the show enjoyable for those who are not familiar with the case, so while there is a lot of review, there is also some good topic matter included.

However, I feel the best aspect of the program is the funding and resources they have allow them to preform research and experiments which the average individual would not be able. So I suppose putting up with everything else is the price you pay, small price to pay if you ask me.

(I like the oak island show as well, though I get the feeling that they are doing all that they can to prolong the series. I think they know something is there, and probably could have gotten to it sooner, but since it is a successful show they would rather drag out as many seasons as they can with it… at the same time, they have funding, resources, and permits and permissions that the average individual would not, so I guess you must take the good with the bad. )

Did they ever use the DNA profiles to attempt to determine the physical appearance of zodiac? Correct me of I’m wrong, but can you not make a vague determination of a person’s physical appearance using only their DNA profile? I think I remember the show even mentioning this, but can not recall ever seeing it… maybe I should re-watch all the episodes, but for some reason I think they left a lot of loose ends, and would almost need to do another season… but then again, I could have been distracted or not paying good attention and missed some things.

During the show they made mention to using known DNA to "recreate Zodiac’s face." Nothing ever came from it though. These are questions the families and investigators need to know. I feel the show was a win because it brings attention to the case and they have the money to invest

I think getting the genetic info from the DNA would be the next step and I hope they do it, regardless of a season 2. If not…I’ll be ticked-off. :x :P

In the book/magazine the history channel has out on the news stands they do a DNA profile to come up with the sort of information you mentioned. And they do show a picture of what they believe Zodiac would have looked like.

Thanks.

Hmm…seems like they should tie up the loose ends from season one.

Ill check out that book/magazine.

If Zodiac is of Middle-Eastern decent…we’re all in for a shock. :P

I think that was provided (in the magazine) as a generality. If you read on, it states that it can be done, not that it has been done.

Thanks, that made no sense to me which is why I didn’t mention the area of origin.

It is somewhat misleading, texas. They sure make it appear otherwise, but after another look, to the left on page 90, it reads: "An example of a DNA phenotype mugshot".

Thanks for pointing that out. I should have read it closer. It does make you curious as to what that analysis would show for the partial Zodiac DNA.
