Hi, just wondering where they station you after graduating Park Ranger school? Is it random, anywere in the state? Thanks.
It’s probably like anything else…after you graduate, you look for employment. I doubt one gets "placed" anywhere, but they probably know of locations people are needed.

It might be that one was hired by a certain park and then sent to ranger school by that park. I know that’s the way it used to be with police dispatchers, they were hired by a department and then sent for POST training at the expense of the department that hired them. It’s no longer like that for the most part because of the expense for housing, food and transportation during the weeks long classes. The departments just cannot afford it any longer. You are expected to have the certificate in hand when you apply now.
