In my view, the Zodiac killer was most definitely a shy, socially inadequate outcast, in his day to day life. Possibly had mild Aspergers but developed some “street smarts” and grit from being brought up poor/lower class. He is not a social, sex obsessed type serial killer, who made friends with people. Zodiac very much liked his own company, was a master at controlling his impulses and could go with no sex for months or even years. Family and coworkers would’ve constantly underestimated him, which added to his volcanic rage towards people. However, the origin of his disturbance was a series of deep wounds in childhood. At work he may have been shunned because of his arrogant, reserved and almost, prudish attitude. Hence, his hatred of promiscuous couples.

What evidence is this based upon?

For example, you said he attacked “promiscuous couples”. How do you explain the LB murders, where both victims were on their first date? Or Paul Stine?

I’m not being argumentative, but what you’ve said has no basis in fact.

You are much more patient and polite than I

Jesus guys give them a chance. First time poster and straight away they are being treated with negativity, are we not all here for the same reason ? Their views are just as valid as every one else’s.

Thanks Cragle. I’m not here to join any groups. Trust me, my self esteem is way to high to seek validation on an Internet forum. Anyway, I think a measured speculation is much more valuable, than the critique of speculation. My description was completely within reason. Therefore, the criticism of my description is quite illusory. Behind snark and sarcasm, there is often jealousy and a need to show off/fit in. As General George Patton so accurately stated, “Watch what people are cynical about, and one can often discover what they lack.”

I’m sorry if I came off with anything appearing like negativity, snark, or sarcasm. Still, if people are going to post opinions or ideas about the case then I think the least we can all expect is that those opinions or ideas are based in facts and evidence rather than wild, unsubstantiated speculation. If posters are new to the case and may not know the facts, then this is an opportunity for them to ask questions and learn.

I would expect the same pushback on me if I threw out some unsubstantiated opinion like "I think the Zodiac liked tomato soup because tomato soup looks like blood".

In this poster’s case, they put out some strong opinions that not only weren’t based in the known evidence of the case, but contradicted it. I think that requires some gentle correction which I tried to supply. If I came off like and arsehole, then I apologize.

No need to apologize. You are 100% correct.

Glad you are so proud of yourself! No wonder everyone is jealous.

That said…

"Trust me, my self esteem is way to high…"

*too

Glad I could help. (Please don’t be jealous.)

I agree with BigG112. Not because I thought about the same immediately but because my ex-girlfriend had told me about: From my telling, she described Z – surprisingly – as very calm, rather an ugly, introverted person. Ugly might not be true (LB witnesses) but that he had been calm, constantly under ‘control’ of himself and – not so successful – of others, might be true. His expression and ‘attraction’, after all, did he find in his murders as well as his taunting letters.

Z might have liked fishing, been focussed on his work (eg. as a post delivery guy at Chronicle or a post office employee – or even a journalist or sitting behind the Mikado doing electricity or selling tickets). Not the type of guy ‘rushing’ into a crowd with plenty people hanging around with him (who might want to have a look into his cellar etc.).

That’s it. Keep apologizing to me Chaucer, to patch up the fragile self worth you have. In fact, I’m not accepting your apology, until you really beg me, then I’ll ponder about giving you your much needed validation. I know beta males like you are so concerned about being the nice guy.

Don’t see how this is supposed to help identify Zodiac. I mean you’re only just here and you are starting trouble. There’s no problem speculating about anything but you have to be prepared for less than complimentary comments, within reason. Getting your back up about it is not the way to go. This forum is not about anyone’s ego or perceived intelligence so don’t start off like that.

Thank You.

I don’t know Chief, he’s very smart or very dumb.

Calm down, Adolf. I am joking around with him. Wow, everyone’s a drama queen these days. I’m not passive aggressive. I speak openly and directly unlike you ninnies.

You’ve been banned for 1 day. Maybe you can take the time to at least read the forum rules. Next one will be permanent.
