I’m sure this would have been investigated already, so excuse me if it has been previously discussed here. Why does it look like some of the writing on the envelopes is over rather than under the postmarks?
Can you post or point out an example?
“Murder will out, this my conclusion.”
– Geoffrey Chaucer
Ok here’s a couple. I’m sure it’s a silly idea, but I just can’t help but think there is something significant about the envelopes. I think there are clues in his preparation of the envelopes and with his placement of the posting. My favorite POI was a postal worker, so maybe I’m demonstrating confirmation bias.
At least in the case of the Belli letter, the writing is under the stamps and the postmarks are over the stamps. We can then be pretty sure that the order was writing > stamps > postmarks. For the other envelopes, I’d say it’s too hard to tell without seeing the originals.
I too have a hunch that the envelopes have more to tell us.
