TIN HAT TIME.

Could it be possible that the Zodiac was actually a racist ? I ask this for a few reasons.

Vallejo at the time seemed to be a hotbed of racial activity, even the Black Panthers had a chapter there.

Use of the word Negro in the Zodiac Unveiled letter.

The use of the word Pigs, which previously Charles Manson had used when trying to start a race war.

The use of Black Power and Algiz rune when he talks about buttons, and his instistance of wearing buttons with the Crosshairs on which at the time represented a number of white supremacy groups.

His constant referencies to "The Mikado" Little know fact but which in the original edition was extremely racist and Ko-Ko actually uses the N word twice in the "As some day it may happen" song.

14 (As in the Halloween card). Fourteen Words – is a slogan which is heavily used by white supremacists and neo-nazis, white nationalists and identitarians.

The SLA letter which obviously referencies the Symbionese Liberation Army but also the Norse refernce. Odinism is a strong theme within the racist groups of the time.

The Use of a KKK style hood at Berryessa and the possible advert in 1976 which uses the "Imperial Wizard".

Well the KKK symbol is reminiscent of the zodiacs own.

Plot twist: Maybe he hated white people..

Yes, dyslexia is probably my first undiagnosed language.

If I’m not mistaken, "negro" was still a socially acceptable term back then. If he was racist then perhaps he would have used the original words to The Mikado instead of "banjo serenader" .

There are elements of the Zodiac persona that could hint at white supremacy. The Celtic cross is used in neo-Nazi circles (Manson used it in prison drawings, feeding into the Bruce Davis as Zodiac theory). And as you say, paganism and Odinism have been embraced by neo-Nazis who reject Christianity as based in Judaism.

It is interesting that Zodiac first referred to the police as "pigs" after the Manson murders, where "death to pigs" was written on the walls in blood. I am convinced he would have followed the Manson Family case.

There is nothing overtly racist about Zodiac, though. Such incivility would have contradicted the sophisticated and cultured image he wanted to project. Plus all of his known victims were lily white.

The Aug 1969 letter uses the term negro. This is a politically correct term for the time. The 1970 little list letter uses the version containing banjo seranader rather than the version containing the N word. Then the May 2, 1978 letter rolls around and we see the letter writer using the N word. Most people dont see the 1978 letter as legit but I do. Now one could think that the 1969 and 1970 letters indicate a person who isn’t a racist because he could have used the N word in either case but didnt. But in the Aug 1969 letter the Zodiac uses symbols to mask the F word. This guy was a murder and unknown. He could have used the F word and the N word and our opinions of him wouldnt have changed. In both instances this non use was habit for him. He was being polite and/or politically correct. But being polite or politically correct doesn’t mean that underneath one isn’t a racist. I think anyone who uses the N word given Its history is. So, in view of the 1978 letter, i would say the Zodiac was no longer interested in being politically correct and indeed revealed he was a racist. I don’t believe that the other things you mentioned are signs of this racism.

Curious to know why you think that letter is legit, Soze. I suspect it was a hoax by a Manson follower.

(Here it is for those unfamiliar)

What set me on the path to this letter being legit is "Darrel Gates". Darrel Gates, while the correct name spelling, was publicly known as "Daryl Gates". The writer seems to know the correct name to use. Anyway, by the time I came across this I was already on the path of genealogy. So, in short, genealogy is what makes this a legit letter and how the names listed connect to other people or codes the Zodiac used. For example, Darrel Gates is connected to Alan Shepard (moon stamp), samuel adams (stamp), arthur eaton (Aug 1969 paper), paul stine (victim) and John Bensley (lake Herman/presidio crime locations) to name just a few.

I see nothing in Zodiac’s letters that point to a racist against blacks! Find it also hard to believe if he was. he goes around trying to kill only young white people. Manson wanted to start a race war and has nothing to do with Zodiacs agenda.

Fair point’s everyone. The reason I asked was due to a name that I have found who was heavily involved with the Klans at the time. He had known both the Cheri Jo Bates family and the Shepard Family. Obviously these are the only two which involved knife attacks which are considered more personal then the use of a gun.

This person would not be Z but they were a very powerful person who in the past had used to his followers to commit murders.
