I came across a documentary a few days ago called ‘Forensic Factor: Fermont Bomber’. The similarities to ‘Zodiac’ left me literally stunned. Here’s a quick rundown for anyone unfamiliar with Blach.

With an MO similar to that of the UniBomber, Blach sent pipe bombs to those he saw as deserving of punishment. In Blach’s case, the targets of his first two attacks were Chief of Fremont PD Craig Steckler and former Fremon Chief Bob Wasserman.

Blach uses Astrological charts when selecting dates and times to bomb, etc.

After one of the devices explodes, Blach phones police to brag of his crime and alert them to a second device placed at another location.

When Police found his notes and documents that contained his motives and his how and when he decided to strike, they were encoded with symbols mixed with English.

Law Enforcement did not catch this bomber, he walked into A Police station and started telling them he could help with their investigations and proceeded to tell them how ‘the bomber’ made the devides, what his ‘possible’ reasons were etc, speaking in the third person.

Blach bragged that police would never have enough evidence to convict him.

And much more that can be seen in this documentary….

Really freaky, Chappie. I can’t believe I never heard of that case but it certainly makes you wonder if this guy wasn’t influenced by Zodiac to some extent. If not a direct influence, there certainly seems to be a lot of psychological similarities.

Nice find!

Ty Entro. Although i’d like to take credit for discovering this on the back of researching Zodiac, the truth is I came across this totally by accident and randomly. But yes there are many many similarities between Blach and ‘Zodiac’. Did you watch the Documentary Entropy with the link I provided or did you look the case details up online?

It appears that he not only shares a lot in common with Zodiac in regards to his criminal activities, but his character seems to be that of a man who is very similar to the personality that Zodiac seems to have judging from his letters. Here’s a few things Blach did that are just, for me, so Z like.

During his trial, The Police Chief was giving evidence as a victim of the crime and at the end of his testimony the Chief pointed to Blach and said, "I have never in my life met a more evil man as that man over there." Then urged that he get a strict prison term and saying Blach was "no better than a common street thug." At that point, Blach clapped his hands and said "I applaud". Clearly the sarcasm and dismissive attitude towards LE is present.
He also protested his innocence saying "I am not the bomber, I have never been a bomber. You can give me five years or 5,000 years — I’ll die in jail — but I don’t give a damn."
"It shows his arrogance," Chief Steckler said later, outside court, of Blach’s behavior. "I want to see if he acts that way with state prisoners."

‘Blach, who once bragged that he would never be linked to the crimes, was found guilty by a jury in June of 11 felony counts of premeditated attempted murder, arson and possessing explosives in the three-day bombing binge in 1998.’

"So it’s sorta social. Demented and sad, but social, right?" Judd Nelson.
