Just a random thought. There is a large hospital on California St. about four blocks from Washington and Cherry. Is now called California Pacific Medical Center. Back in the day it was Pacific Presbyterian or just Presbyterian. Would have been a good place to go to get out of sight. Maybe worked there or pretended to visit someone. Suspect would have been walking other direction from it but who knows.

You are right about the name. CPMC now has four campuses. Back when I was a kid it was Childrens. The Pacific campus on Webster St. was the old Presbyterian.
