So….I was doing my usual random search for Z terms and made an odd find that I can’t tell if I am reading into it too much or not enough since I can’t find a ton on it. There was a silent film series by Universal back in the 1920’s called "The Moon Riders". It was released in 16 parts. The search that got a hit on this was looking for "Red with Rage" from the Count Marco letter.

So I came up with a hit on a movie series called Moon Riders and checked out the Wiki on it and was a bit intrigued because of the names of each individual chapter title:

1.Over the Precipice
2.The Masked Marauders
3.The Red Rage of Jealousy
4.Vultures of the Hills
5.The Death Trap
6.Caves of Mystery
7.The Menacing Monster
8.The Moon Rider’s Bride
9.Death’s Door
10.The Pit of Fire
11.The House of Doom
12.Unmasked
13.His Hour of Torture
14.The Flaming Peril
15.Rushing Waters
16.Clearing Skies

And was in particular interested in The Red Rage of Jealousy, The Death Trap, The Pit of Fire, The House of Doom, Unmasked, His Hour of Torture, The Flaming Peril, and while the 8th episode listed here is The Moon Rider’s Bride, the poster calls it "At Rope’s End"

Here are the posters that I was able to find on it:

Interesting movie title and use of skeletons….woman’s position oddly reminded me of skeleton on Halloween card…

Use of Hood on this poster….

Skeletons again….

I would love to be able to watch these, but can’t find much of anything out there on them and the only pictures I could find were these and one more that is so small it was not worth posting.

Anyone think there is a possible Z connection with these or is it just zynchro again?

Just found that apparently this movie is considered "Lost" so it is unlikely I will ever get to see it…DAMN!

That is interesting, Vasa. Unfortunately if the film is lost it probably means that whoever Zodiac was, he most likely didn’t watch it either. I like the images from film, they remind me of the silent film El Rojo Spectre.

No matter what…totally/completely creepy. :D

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

Yeah…when I saw it was lost I read up on that and it seems about 90% of all silent films were destroyed a long time before Z was likely even born

Yeah…I would imagine this was pushing the envelope back when it was made…still looks creepy to me and I love creepy movies! Wish I could have watched these…sucks they’re lost.

Vasa, check out the director, Reeves Eason. He did a lot of weird flix’s including phantom stuff.
