Sorry if it’s a mess, but I do not cease to entertain a Z team, so al would be a "Mens Rea collective". Got that term, which is controversial in the Brazilian criminal law about it. The approach of intention is a good way to get started on a "reverse engineering" to something (not sure if I made myself clear)

Mens rea refers to whether a person accused of a crime, possesses the ability to realize that what he was doing was prohibited, i.e. that their act (or omission) was done with an intent to commit the crime.
Did one, at the time of the crime, have the knowledge or intention to commit a prohibited act (criminal act). Was he capable of understanding his intent to do wrong.

If you believe that the zodiac was both killer and letter writer it is certain that he possessed mens rea due to the fact that he admits to and to a certain extent describes his intent.

It is up to the prosecutor to prove mens rea.

In MY opinion the Zodiac clearly told everyone it was a game to the insane..I believe him. I do feel the insanity really surfaced when the Zodiac was on drugs on the weekends when he was in the area. I believe he was in the army and a casual boyfriend of Donna Lass. I believe he met her at the Letterman hospital while in the Army. I believe he probably used her car in the July 5th 69 killing.. I believe he was a special forces reject and he intended to prove to everyone he could kill. I believe the Zodiac symbol was copied from the 35th Division Army patch. The first time he used the symbol in August 69 he signed it no address… which was his address. I believe the original Inspectors missed it…I believe he was also affiliated with Ft Ord, Presidio and possibly Travis AFB in probably a administrative medical casual company slot. I believe Donna Lass left her nursing job at Letterman to move away from him. I believe he found her in Lake Tahoe.

I wish that were true (and maybe it is) but I have talked on the phone personally with Donna’s friend who worked with her at Letterman, lived with her in S.F., and was to meet her the night she disappeared. We talked in depth about Donna and her relationships (or lack there-of) and the possibility of anyone from Letterman being involved, etc. There was just…nothing. There was no indication of any relationship like that–in Tahoe either. If close friends and roommates didn’t know anything about even a casual boyfriend, it would seem what you say is simply a guess.

Tahoe, I do not believe a normal 24 year old nurse does not have a relationship somewhere. I think she was probably a very private person and it already was obvious to me everyone’s opinion at this point is somewhat a guess. regards

That might be – but I guess the onus is on you to substantiate your theory as regards this particular point. It’s fair game to assume when no facts are known – but if it is known (as per the statements of her friends) that she seemingly didn’t have any relationships with men she met at Letterman, I’d say that constitutes a problem.

What do you base your assumption on? Do you have anyone particular in mind?

If you suggest she left her life; jobs, friends, etc. in S.F. to get away from this man, I think it probable she would have mentioned something about this person to her room mates who were also fellow nurse co-workers and close friends. Imo, this would have been a situation no woman would have left untold–especially to her closest friends.

She left behind a new car, a bank account and a large wardrobe" So I can play that game too..there goes your theory Tahoe,,Other eyewitnesses saw her with this young guy. BTW, no mention of a struggle. From my experience I have found it to be common that young ladies get their own digs when they want some privacy in a relationship.

I’m not surprised – that you have someone in mind. That’s what it smelled like – if you pardon the phrase – from the beginning.

I’m glad to hear your main purpose (I trust I didn’t misunderstand you there) is to learn more. That is a noble pursuit and one I very much dedicate myself to…erm…myself.

I certainly never said Donna didn’t have male friends or acquaintances. I know she did. I just don’t think she left her life behind in S.F. because of some guy, but failed to inform this to her closest friends.

From my experience (as a woman myself) women move out on their own for privacy and independence–not just to be with a man.

While we all appreciate "I think", that doesn’t mean people won’t question or debate your assumptions. It is to be expected. It happens to me too as my opinion isn’t always widely accepted. I don’t care that you don’t give a damn about me or what I think about your theories, but I will state my opinion about things as I see fit.
