It’s been said that police began to take a close look at theater troupes in the area after Zodiac sent the Mikado letter. They thought Zodiac might be associated with the local theater culture, especially the active Theater District in SF.
Does anyone know what this investigation entailed? Did they simply interview a few actors? Were fingerprints taken? Writing samples?
I imagine questioning all of the theater people in the Bay Area would be a daunting (if not impossible task), so how thorough was the investigation of the local theaters?
“Murder will out, this my conclusion.”
– Geoffrey Chaucer
I seem to recall that one of the Theaters had run a production of the Mikado, and the performers were interviewed. I think there was talk of a creepy tall individual dressed in leather bondage type attire who had attended all of the shows and creeped out the whole cast. If you do a search I think it has come up in a few threads.
