I will be the first to admit that I go back and forth with ideas the more I research and learn but for the most part I believe he is probably the polar opposite of what he is trying to display in his writings as well as In his dress style during his crimes meaning he probably talked more current and of that time period and used more pop culture jargon rather then using terms like shall and a more vintage way of speaking. I believe he probably dressed more up to date as well in his everyday life and blended in very well. I believe that’s his alter ego speaking when he writes and we all know that in comics or movies the super hero or villain for that matter is usually some nerd whos alter ego is bigger than life but when they are seen without there disguise its usually the opposite which is why no-one suspects Clark Kent to be superman.

I feel he is probably younger then some people might think (not a teenager but was not 35-45 yrs old) and does not go to operas but most likely is a huge movie buff and loves comic books and just books in general about history as well as pop culture and off beat topics. I believe he was probably a very outgoing person at work or in public places like restaurants talking to waitresses and so forth. I believe he would get a personal kick out of talking to people and thinking they don’t know who I really am and he might even be overly helpful in some cases because in his mind that would be part of the game and the opposite of his alter ego which was the zodiac.

While I don’t believe he was some sort of genius I do believe he was very patient , extremely cunning and planned very well for A, B , and C scenarios in the event he had a hick up or two.
I think his ability to remain calm in tight situations is his greatest ability and most likely the main reason he hasn’t been identified yet. When I read his writings I see a lot of immaturity and I can’t help (in some cases not all) but to go left when he is pointing me right or go up when he is leading me down. I feel like everyone in his area knew who he was but nobody knew his alter ego. I refer to people like that as the ‘"Oh that’s just guy" like if you were to ask a person, whos that guy talking to Cindy? and they reply oh that’s just Jon or whoever. The unassuming guy who is a polite helpful monster and he relishes in the fact that people have no clue about the game in his mind.

By todays standards I think the zodiac killer would probably be considered a computer nerd or maybe even grew up a gamer kid who collected various knives, comic books and different guns when he got older as well as be a subscriber to various gun magazines. He would love hunting and He might even be into civil war reenactments or any violent type of historical reenactments. I think he would have an off beat sense of humor and laughed at things some people might not find funny. That’s just my two sense on the matter but please feel free to chime in.

The lie, if you want to call it that, is in the presentation of his bait. I’ve seen your posts. You state that in semiotics an item can have more than one meaning. Which it can. A rose, for example, can be just a flower or it can be the virgin Mary. The Zodiac’s tactics I wouldn’t call a lie. To be a master at marketing you really have to know the public well to obtain the desires you seek in whatever your selling. If I called what he did anything I would say it was – well played.

Sorry Soze, by "where’s the lie" I meant that I fully agreed with your little list of three things. He’s a manipulator and an intelligent one. The fact that we’re still talking about him, is a narcissist’s dream come true.

My list would be.

1. Lived in Vallejo.
2. Rejected by LE.
3. An avid reader, yet a self-taught autodidact (with all the flaws that come with not having learned the syllabus; he doesn’t know what he doesn’t know).

I’ll play, I’m bored, lol,

I believe there could possibly be a Colonial PKWY connection.
I believe one of his parents was in the military, but not him.
I believe he is currently deceased.

Mah-na Mah-na

Certainly his dream come true. Very sad. I hope and pray, should he ever be identified, that law enforcement NEVER makes his name available to the public. I think he wanted that infamy and would not want to see him get it even in death.

I agree with your third point. He isn’t a college guy. Maybe asperations but never went. Completely self taught.

1- zodiac wore glasses for real, and not a disguise as some people think! I think he wore glasses because of the sports band he wore with his glasses as he was scared of them coming off in any attack he may have done and that they would come off and his vision would be impaired. Why wear the sports band if it was just a disguise? 2- I think the zodiac persona was more than one perpetrator. Which brings me onto 3- I think the zodiacs car had 2 people in at lake berressa, one was writing on Brian’s car door whilst the other carried out the attack

1. Had some kind of injury. (Always kept victims at distance or disadvantage, the "shuffling lope", travel by car seems important as opposed to running, biking, etc.)

2. Some connection to cultural ephemera / making things – altered greeting cards, buttons, comics, codes, symbols, song lyrics, homemade costume, taping light to gun, bomb drawings, etc.

3. The misspellings and weird turns of phrase have something to do with a strained or distinctive or overcompesatory relationship with english / language in general. For example; a speech impediment or learning disability or English maybe not being his first or only language. Also the interest in coding his messages speaks to this.
