Ok, so we all know there were survivors of Z’s attacks. Z claimed these survivors in his numbers if I am not mistaken. Any chance his numbers claimed in each letter were just that….victims? Not necessarily only those that died, but ALL victims of the Zodiac in some manner? He always claimed he would change up his look and he did always change how he did his thing, but what if how he did his thing did NOT result in a death and somehow the victims survived but may not have known there was an attempt on their life by a specific individual, such as an auto accident caused by brake malfunction or whatever….Z obviously knew cars.
Was just searching for stuff and came across this article which got me thinking that maybe all the claimed victims were not ones that dies, but that he had a hand in.
This was in San Dimas….not far from Riverside and happened on the night before Valentines Day 1970 with 2 couples in the car from what I could find. So it was a Friday which also follows the weekend thing for Z, and near a holiday, with couples and a small import car was involved with the driver claiming the brakes failed.
This was found in reference to looking up the 4-teen reference in the Halloween card. Would be interesting to see if any of the teens mentioned in the story had any connection to any other Z victim or school.

It happened near Puddingstone Reservoir (water association) near San Dimas Avenue and south of Arrow Highway.
I guess brakes failed every now and then, but just some zynchro here that caught my eye.
I believe Zodiac claimed his kills.
If we start putting in possible victims, we could add this to the list of thousands of possibilities.

Well..the other reason I say this is because of a couple of discrepancies he has in his "writings". He says in the dripping pen letter "Dec July Aug Sept Oct = 7" but on the door from the LB attack he only writes December, July and September…no mention of August. Why would he claim August in a later letter and not on the door writing? In the dripping pen letter he is obviously claiming the Stein killing as well with "Oct" being on there. If we are to take his count accurately and assume he is not adding in the ones that survived, that would mean that sometime in August he killed 2 people that nobody has ever figured out correct? That or he killed at least one in August and possibly another in one of the other months mentioned.
So, why would he miss putting the August killing date on the door of the car if he in fact DID kill in August as claimed by his letter?
Even in his August 7th Zodiac Unveiled letter he does not claim another victim….only the Dec and July attacks. Though there are more days in August after that, I would think he would have claimed it as usual on the door….unless, like I was saying before, he is claiming those that may not have died as well?

That’s what makes the "Little List" letter odd to me. He claims that he is going to torture all his slaves in numerous ways, though they are already dead.
