Hi all,

Quicktrader has been ‘working’ a bit.

What I always found annoying was to not have an overview of victims, dates, letters etc…so I started to create a chronology of events (attacks, victims, letters, missing persons, shootings etc.). Although not ready, I’d like to provide the information to the public as I´ve done a lot of research at newspaperarchive.com (do they cover LA Times?), found many details in the articles – astonishingly I can not remember that press did contradict somehow, so information should be valid. Although no ‘proof’ I believe that this approach might help to understand the following:

– which serial killers were around?
– where was Z?
– which modum of operandi has been used?
– which victim/event is related to which letter?
– when and how did the handwriting change?
– etc.

The sheet is NOT complete and do I therefore suggest to not work on it, as I may rework it, e.g. numbering and correlating the events.

NEW INFORMATION is available in the sheets, as long as you haven´t read all newspapers of the bay area in the last 50 years. Lake Barryessa and other well-known Z crimes covered by Tom are mentioned shortly, as these contain even more information. Some information has been collected in the – public – internet, if somebody feels offended, please contact me and I will delete the whole sheet .

Timeframe of the ZODIACHRONOLOGY starts somewhere in the beginning of the 60ies and is getting incomplete somehow in the mid-eighties. Please give the sheet a minute to load as well and be aware that some cells might contain up to 2-3 pages of information. One thing keep in mind: Zodiac grew older as well, so age descriptions of witnesses should always be seen in a context with the date of the crime.

Please be also aware that the sheet is very biiiiiiiig and possibly it is impossible to read all information on one day. Also it is very hard to match any missing persons to kidnappings, police has done great work here and so still do various doe network sites.

If any information is completely wrong, please don´t hesitate to contact me. Not all sources of newspaper articles are given however should be found easily somehow.

When the sheet is ready, I will start to set-up a list of questions that might be answered and may somehow help.

Have fun, please don´t hesitate to contact me if you have any guestions, also feel free to publsh – a later completed version – on your website if you like (any awards should be donated to the victims anyway, after excessive BBQ expenses). Peace to the never-to-be-identified victims’ souls.

I think the Speed Freak Killer (one left) should die slowly over the time of at least four weeks on a 110V chair, Bruce Davis should rot in his prison until he is 250 years old and Charles Manson be paroled due to ‘slight mental problems’.

Quicktrader…wow, that is some spread sheet, and I am sure people will find it useful. Not being overly familiar with spread sheets, etc, is there some kind of hyper link on that in which I can click on a victim name or date, and read more about them? Just wondering

not yet. Thought about that, however the sheet is not complete, later this should be done, says Obi-Wan. Even a chronology of events (e.g. http://www.dipity.com ) is difficult to visualize due to the amount of data / lack of import function.

Also a MAP of the events would be interesting to see.

Excellent work. Having a list like this with MO, dates in order and other information is something that I have wanted to see for awhile.

I’m not sure what your criteria is, but I thought I saw a couple people to add to the list. What do the different font colors indicate?

I know this is designed for web browsing, but I think it would be great to have a printed form, even with just the information that is available at a glance.

Can’t wait to see how it progresses!

You have to add this case to the list:

June 67, double murder. The couple were parked on a lovers lane. Their killer forced them out of the car, and shot the male immediately. He forced the girl into his car and drove her to a secluded area a few miles away. He then let her out, and as she ran, he shot her in the back.(sounds familiar…Lake Herman Rd). Also, they were getting heavy breathing phone calls, and being followed by an unknown man in a car, who also parked in front of their houses(sounds Familiar…like some of the Darlene Ferrin accounts). This couple was not robbed, and she was not raped. The Alameda County sheriffs dept believed this could be an early zodiac murder, and requested bullets from Solano county from the Lake Herman Rd murders for comparison to their bullets. The solano samples were too damaged to get a match. There is a thread on this couple in the ‘possible victims’ section called JUNE 67 ALAMEDA VICTIMS

:scratch: Quick Trader, could you please go back to 1960 in the city of lost Angles? and near by.? missing person and murders as young as babys? Thank You. For some reason I’m unable to get missing sites that will go back that far. That site you made is very will done. Do you ckink on to the names to read the info? I wonder is the reports a lot a like. Very interesting article, I try to get back to 1960 as well, however the prior riots in this area make it difficult to find and administer all killings (also children were quite numerous in some years, possibly related to other child molestors) – it will be the next bigger step of Zodiachronology.

I also have problems to find historical LA Times articles, anybody a good source for that? Thanks in advance..

November 24, 1969 Merchant Marine cook Raphael Norbert Colar (Ralph Colar) shot by 9 mm outside of his home. Possible Z victim. Story in the Nov. 26 San Mateo Times, discovered by The Foreigner, I believe.

Apr. 20 1970 Robert Salem killed in home by Zodiac copy-cat. Article in the SF Chron same day?
