Hello.
This is an example of a proposed use of "keys" of the cipher 340.
Split the cipher into two parts
line 1 to line 10 and line 11to line 20
1 to 10

apply the "keys"
1 to 10

TSEPTEMBEROCTOBER

I did the test with Jarvle’s program, without success of course.

I found the first part interesting when we put S in place of C in December on the key.

Try the same key, but in Norwegian.
The "Des" instead of Dec could be a clue that the norwegian spelling version should be used as key:

Here is the norwegian version (letter changes highlighted in blue) versus your english version:
DESEMBERJULIAUGUSTSEPTEMBEROKTOBER
DECEMBERJULYAUGUSTSEPTEMBEROCTOBER

Hi, english is not my first language so please bear with me :)

Hello.
At the end of the year, one (another) observation I made.
It is not related to the "dripping pen" card , but to the number 17 and zodiac of course. In the message that Z wrote on the door of the car we have 17 numerical symbols (Ceasar Key who knows), I am putting together a list of "keys" with 17 of lenght or multiples of 17.

Yep :)

I did a test, roughly how I will be going on vacation and I will go to the beach in the next few days, I am giving time in the tests.
I did not test (yet) with the cipher in "mirror", inverted columns, rotations etc. But I will do further and post here.
Thanks again for your attention.

This may be really stupid and may have been spoke of here already over & over.
So I have no clue about ciphers whatsoever, but isn’t Des some type of cipher or something back in the 60’s
created by IBM
*Edit, so sorry if this is not new discussions

Interesting observation, DES (Data Encryption Standard) Key, but from what I researched, it wasn’t until the early 1970s that it started to develop, unless mistakenly. It may be that this was previously studied, sixties, I will research more about. I believe that here in our community we have people who know this story better than me.
thanks Mr Sandiland :)

Marclean thanks. I’m not all that observant or computer techy (if that’s even a real word) lol but I do google a lot. And I don’t know how to share what I read via link for others to read. Oh, btw it’s Mrs Sandiland lol lol

Marclean probably made some grammar mistakes in his Vigenère keyword: DESEMBERJULIAUGUSTSEPTEMBEROKTOBER should be DECEMBERJULYAUGUSTSEPTEMBEROCTOBER.

Klaus has a recent DES challenge and description at http://scienceblogs.de/klausis-krypto-k … ld-diffie/

@Marclean, cool The Doors t-shirt!

Mr Jarlve, this was a test of the Norwegian months suggested by Mr Theforeigner.

Hello,
I hope everyone is well, safe and healthy and at home, taking care of themselves and those they love.
Well, nothing new (or surprising) to share, just an observation.
I noticed that on the halloween card there is the message
"From Your Secret Pal"
which, without space, has 17 letters.
It is certainly a coincidence, but, I think it is worth testing in decoding methods of the 340.

much peace and health to all !!!
