Well Well Well, I wasn’t aware that some editors wanted to challenge Zodiac to a Cipher Fight. I’ll print a code on the front page to instigate San Fran’s very own anarchist. Quite simple enciphers message of mine, reads:
Vhot Hee’s Vhor Nhame?
Naval Intelligence would be left baffled and stumped as such cryptic complexity.
"So it’s sorta social. Demented and sad, but social, right?" Judd Nelson.
Latest “Let’s Crack Zodiac” episode features Omarr’s cipher message to Zodiac:
Potential solution for the coded message:
“THEY STAY AT MY MTAAH”
All letters fit perfectly but the last word / abbreviation I cannot interprete. Mt. Anna home?

After a few hundred thousand substitutions based on moreless all (!) two-letter word combinations, I reconsidered that the cipher is rather meant to be read as an astrological alphabet:
1st word
Neptune Mars Uranus Mercury
DHEI
2nd word
Sun Mercury Jupiter Venus
AIBG
3rd word
Jupiter Neptune
BD
4th word
Moon Venus
JG
5th word
Moon Mercury Jupiter Jupiter Mars
JIBBH
All astrological signs are present, especially the Uranus symbol is very distinctive. However the results are unclear – has Omar ever published an astrological alphabet? Or is the message (still) encrypted in some sort of way?
The last word could be e.g. “SHOOT”, “TODDS” etc..

The decryption’s explained in the video.

@doranchak This solution seems to be plausible as it actually consists of a substitution combined with a rail fence encryption (method). This is why it had required a hint (“that is, aid in breaking down the astrological symbols to letters”), which I hadn’t read. Only the ‘self’ instead of ‘yourself’ reads a bit edgy but the solution is plausible.

Where did you see a rail fence encryption?
The third symbol, Uranus or numerologically ‘four’ may be interpreted as D (4), M (13=4) or V (22=4). The reader has to choose which one is the correct one (V). Doing so one after another – from a limited group of letters – to find the clearext (here: out of three different possibilities, D, M and V). You write those three letters above each other, for each cipher symbol, and you got your fence.
