Ok…so I have been a "free time" zodiac amateur for a long time. I am wondering if his codes are being over analyzed at this point. How many codes in history have been unbreakable? Seriously…mankind has figured out ancient languages and some of the greatest ciphers in the world in less time. I read a lot of history and I think that there are more theories on zodiac ciphers than most any other "writings" I have seen. I know in my heart there is a meaning to his ciphers but I also think it is being WAY over analyzed at this point. My reasoning on this is that some really great minds and detectives have been working on this for 30+ years and have yet to solve it. Zodiac was, by most accounts, a young man in his late 20’s early 30’s. So I am supposed to think at this point that he was some sort of idiot savant or smarter than a conglomerate of people whom together must have the brain power to decipher this code. Not only that but computer programs have been put to the test on it as well and have yet to Crack it. So, what options does that leave us with? I know there is meaning to it…i think it is uncrackable because I believe it is a code from a Zodiac made alphabet. And unless you have the book he wrote his alphabet in, you can’t break it.

Just doesn’t make sense that he could write an unbreakable code with all of the manpower put in. Are we over thinking it? Is it simpler than has been concluded? I believe there is a code book out there….i also believe it is a brand/mining hand drawn book of symbols, or two books combined. It is probably sitting in someone’s closet of their grandfather’s belongings or in a dump site somewhere from a home teardown. I don’t think it will ever be cracked because it is built on multiple "languages" with a code.

Thoughts?

There had been ciphers being cracked after years, e.g. Linear B was one of those. Others appeared to be simple but have never been solved. It should not be forgotten that the (340) ciphers’ complexity was chosen wisely and that it was an ‘improvement’ compared to the 408. I’d stop immediately analyzing it if it’d become sort of a dead end. However as long as additional information can be received out of such stuff it could make sense to continue with it.

I completely agree. I am not saying there is nothing in the code. I firmly believe there is a key and the ciphers do have words and meaning. I just think it is one of two cases….it is either being over analyzed or it is unbreakable due to it being code written in a "multi-language" script.
