I am going to organize the symbols on the chart into groups by count, cycles, other patterns. Use group numbers instead of symbols and recast color coded group numbers into different widths, looking for a pattern that shows hoax. Especially 19, and multiples of 13. Like this:

How about a periodic transposition + null solver for AZdecrypt. The user would be able to determine the period and the amount of null characters to add or remove.

I am working on it and hope to have something by the end of next weekend. If so, I will share a build of AZdecrypt here. AZdecrypt has over 30000 lines of code now and there is allot of progress.

On your cipher the solver usually returns a 23000+ solve within a couple of minutes so that is good. The user can decide the period and the amount of nulls + skips it hill climbs. Please make a cipher with 5 skips also, tyvm.

The cipher with 5 skips is harder than the one with 5 nulls. It took about 30 minutes and I had to remove the 5 nulls at the end manually. I have started a run on your cipher with 5 nulls and skips, it may be a bit too much though, it is allot.

Hi capricorn: Jarlve has spent probably thousands of hours writing an awesome computer program that can solve cryptograms, a lot of different variations of what we think the 340 may be. Most every time we think of a variation, a hypothesis that explains some of the statistical patterns that we observe in the 340, he will add to the program a new capability. So far no luck, but if the 340 is solve, it will probably be this program that is used. Jarlve and I discuss the patterns, and I make test messages for his program. Then he solves them. If the program can solve a message encrypted with the new hypothesis, but not the 340, then we know that we need to change the hypothesis. And the program. This has been going on for three years now. A lot of work. But, I am hoping that someday we will strike things just right. Thanks for asking.

Thanks for all you two geniuses do! I am very impressed and wished I understood these things but my mind doesn’t seem able to wrap around anything but the most basic of ciphers and codes.

I had the feeling that these messages were part of your work but thinking you are really getting very close as these read very easily other than a few misspelled letters (hope you understand what I’m trying to say).

The solver has been running for almost 22 hours and it has not cracked your cipher with 5 nulls and 5 skips yet. I am sure that it can and that it is just a matter of time. Optimization will cut down on the time the solver needs. Can you please throw me 3 more ciphers, one with 2 nulls and 2 skips, one with 3 nulls and 3 skips and one with 4 nulls and 4 skips. 11 positions seems out of the question for now but it may be easier since these are near the top and bottom and therefore do not disturb the order of the message as much.

You need to do this for it to work: after starting AZdecrypt go to Options and click on Toggle performance mode (new upcoming feature). You should see the following message:

5-gram solver performance mode enabled, supported:

- Substitution + columnar transposition
- Substitution + period + nulls & skips
- Substitution + transposition
- Batch ciphers (substitution)

The columnar solvers are also a work in progress. The solver you are looking for is called Substitution + period + nulls & skips and has the following settings under the solver options menu:

(Substitution + period + nulls & skips) Nulls & skips: 5
(Substitution + period + nulls & skips) Search depth: 1

Leave the search depth at 1. Have fun.
