Meanwhile, the hot topic as of yesterday is whether ALA drew a map of Lake Berryessa.  Oh brother.

Definitely been a learning experience.

It’s been laughably bad.  Came here as an outsider.

IN THREE AND THREE EIGHTHS RADIANS TEN is the personally confirmed solution to THE MOUNT DIABLO CODE.

Cracked after 55 years by computer wizard David Stampher using the Python programming language.

While I didn’t work with a team, I think that turned out to be an advantage.

I didn’t have to argue with others about methodology.  I was able to rapidly adjust my approach until it worked out.

Post-solve working solo became harder.  As I have to battle an army of bad debunkers.

All of these bad debunkers had alternative proposals to this cipher, or had a pre-conceived notion Z32 was unsolvable (thanks, experts).

The experts look bad for not cracking it long ago.  Oh well.  I found the triangle.

The experts spent years working on Z340.

Kudos to them for cracking that one, but they should have been working on Z32.  Not my fault.

Not trying to be mean, that is my honest opinion, just as @shaqmeister has the opinion that the landmark I found is natural in origin.

I think Z32 was easier to solve (so many hints), a more interesting cipher, and actually leads to something fascinating.

And David Stampher cracked it in December 2025 with Python, but has mostly been ignored as we approach mid-April.

On the topic of Z340, where Zodiac claims he didn’t make the call to the radio program.  Pretty sure he is lying in his cipher.  He made that call, then regretted it.  So he lied and said he didn’t make the call.  Pretty simple.

Zodiac has the same pathetic way of speaking in his letter to Belli as the caller.  It was him.  Not stating with certainty but high confidence.  Not going to write a big wall of text about it.

The call displayed his more submissive/weak personality (the same one that wrote the Belli letter), and so he had to disown it after the fact.  Zodiac becomes less scary if people realize he was the caller.

And so, he lies in Z340.

Even though Zodiac (in my opinion) mostly used Z340 as a PR campaign to discredit the radio call he regretted making, I am still glad it was cracked.  It was important to know what it said, and it let people stop wasting more time on it after it was solved.  Z340 being cracked also led to me cracking Z32 in December 2025, and so it was significant in that regard.

And so it is true to say that it would be highly unlikely for Z32 to be solved in December 2025, had Z340 not been solved in December 2020.  They are connected events.

And so if my solution checks out that will be the legacy of Z340.  While it was a taunt/lie, the solving of it generated enough public interest for someone else to come along and make an honest effort at Z32.

This actually increases the historical value of Z340, which already was there beforehand.  But we all know the plaintext was a disappointment.  It took a long time for that to be revealed.  Either way it renewed hype in Zodiac ciphers.
