Vallejo is pretty far north, and is actually further from san francisco than most of the other outlying cities in the bay area.

Having lived in the bay area most of my life I just get the feeling that vallejo was his most likely location.

Again, vallejo would just be a good likely starting point, like I said before, one must remain open and consider all possibilities and not allow oneself to commit to notions based off of speculation, personal opinion or gut feeling.

…he might have been closer To SF, like in Berkley or Richmond, or he could have been further out like Fairfield or Vacaville, there are a lot of potential locations, but you have To start somewhere, and vallejo seems like a good place to start based on police reports, witness statements, and probability

Well, when I say "really not that far" I just mean you could drive to and from there pretty easily. And I don’t discount Vallejo as being his home base. I’ve only been to San Francisco once and that was just a quick trip in and out a long time ago, so I’m not very familiar with the area.

I’m working from the point of view that he didn’t "do his thing" on his home turf, where his car or even he himself would be known by more people. I’d say he was certainly very familiar with all of the areas he committed his attacks though. But thing like him calling Blue Rock Springs "the public park" tells me he wasn’t a lifelong local, else he would have called it by name.

But then, he had to know these secluded areas existed. Thinking of my own home area, and even though I’m pretty familiar with the local towns I’m not sure I’d know where to find secluded spots like Zodiac used except in areas I have been to several times over the years. I’d think Zodiac chose his spots because he knew them.

I mean, who the hell would know about that parking spot on Lake Herman road except a local or at least someone who had spent substantial time in that area. I find it odd he would know that but not know the name of BRS and call it a "public park". I think if he knew it well he would have just told police "go to Blue Rock Springs".

I guess I’m saying, he’s from around there somewhere, but he seems more familiar with Benicia than Vallejo. Both attack site are actually very close though, seems like if he knew one area well he’d know the other well. Also seems he worked further from his home base each attack, first locally in Benicia, then Vallejo, then way the hell out at Lake Berryessa, then San Francisco. Or did he first strike way away from home, then each one closer?
