So after spending some time trying to figure out this mystery I think I have a solution.
The ML transferred from the paper or part of it. Probably went through it. You will notice also that there are black lines drawn from the tape onto the car door. These black markings also appear on the car door when the paper covering was pulled down. I hope they at least used a different color pen.

In the video at the above link you can clearly see it was never on the door.
