I posted this over on Tom’s forum, but I think you guys should take a look.
Seriously though, has anyone else read their so-called “press release”? It’s way out there, even by internet crime forum standards.
They claim that the age lines in the Zodiac sketch are scars, presumably this crucial detail was kept secret by the Ancient Guild of The Fraternal and Benevolent Sketch Artists. They claim a shadow in a piece of wood is a man in the Zodiac hood. They claim that they are launching daring and dangerous expedition into the Sierras to recover the Zodiac’s guns. I mean, these may be the most outlandish claims in the history of the case. And such sensational claims. It’s clearly meant to shock and wow audiences.
It’s very theatrical and insane in a really attention-grabbing kind of way. I really think they’re trying to kind of bamboozle people by making claims so ridiculous that you end up wondering if maybe it’s true because why would anyone say something that crazy?
? Horseshit, best evidence Iβve heard yet on this guy is βa group of 40 retired FBI agents and ex militaryβΒ
Am mildly curious about what they mean by his name being a solution however nonsensical that is given the remaining ciphers.
New article on Poste: https://www.theunion.com/news/yet-to-be-published-memoir-possibly-ids-zodiac-killer-says-he-killed-tahoe-woman-hung-remains-in-tree/
“The Tahoe Daily Tribune obtained a bootleg copy of a yet to be published memoir called βCatching Zodiacβ by Peabody Award-winning TV journalist Dale Julin that possibly unmasks the killer, deciphers previously unsolved encrypted puzzles and through those, found possible macabre treasure maps to Lassβ remains in Zephyr Cove.”
Predictably Julin’s “solutions” are unintelligible nonsense.
I don’t know how the team missed this in the cipher .
ARRSHMALL = R MARSHALL my suspect.
Here’s my latest video, which covers the recent news:

Thanks David!!!

Thanks @doranchak for the video. I didn’t want to try to follow that press release, so your grounded-in-reality summary is greatly appreciated.
So, unless I misunderstood, there’s a witness who saw Poste burying guns in a remote location that requires a helicopter to reach? That’s even more damning than the forehead scars that Mageau, Shepard, Hartnell, Fouke, and the three teenagers all described. Didn’t Nancy Slover also mention that the caller she spoke with sounded like he had scars on his forehead? I wonder what would happen if we made an anagram of the words he said to her. Maybe it would reveal the location he buried the guns. Luckily we know where that is, so we just have to plug it into our key and the message will appear. π
Jokes aside, the statement that this team features former FBI agents makes me scratch my head. How can I, an unemployed idiot living in a house out in the sticks, see holes in this story that someone who worked with the FBI can’t? Surely they wouldn’t accept someone of my limited intellect. I can only hope the former agents just over-thought this to such a degree that they somehow found a way to have it make sense to them.
Sigh… ? I think we’re running out of space on Earth to store all of the roadblocks people keep putting in the way of getting this case solved once and for all!
Thank you David, I am watching this video for the second time already. In it, I discovered that FayΓ§al Ziraoui had proposed a solution to the Z32, which according to news sources, (removing spaces to make it 32 characters long) is LABORDAYFIND45.069NORT58.719WEST. If it were correct, it It contains interesting numerical values. During the summer, I had posted an idea about how many things about Zodiac’s process involve numbers divisible by three, and hints about his using prime numbers too. In FayΓ§al’s solution, once again we find information that are values divisible by three, these two numbers: 45069 and 58719, but only if you remove the decimals. What a hair-brained coincidence! Are there that many things in the world that divide by three?
However a big problem with this idea is that removing the decimals knocks the puzzle down to a length of 30. Why would Zodiac need to insert decimals anyway.
If you think about it, a third of all numbers you can possibly think of are divisible by 3.Β So it’s not so uncommon to find them.
Dave, this is off topic, but when are you speaking in front of the NSA/FBI? Werenβt you supposed to give a presentation at a conference for them?Β
“Murder will out, this my conclusion.”

Sam, Jarl, and I gave talks for the recent American Cryptogram Association and HistoCrypt conferences, and I gave one for a cybersecurity conference, so I think we covered the topic pretty well among all those.Β I thought about submitting a proposal for the upcoming NSA sponsored conference but I think the deadline was back in September.Β But thanks for the reminder – I emailed the organizers to see if they’d be interested in a talk.
