I would like to ask the following to those who are very knowledgeable of the case and who have seen a lot of the handwriting of Z case suspects:

From all the examples of the handwriting of suspects (including those who were ruled out by LE) that you have seen, what is the one (or the ones) that appear to you to be more Z-like? If possible, could you explain why?

If all the people with suspects would contribute here, you would see a very long list. Which is part of the problem, really.

I always thought Ted Kaczynski’s was one of the best matches, and I don’t think he was Zodiac. There are a lot of characteristics that look like Zodiac’s handwriting.

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

Many different people have similar writing styles. That should be observable in your own local environment. But still these are different people. Look for peculiarities. It would be a good idea to have a handwriting database or at least some sort of section per POI that contains just handwriting. Many of the POI are lacking a good amount of handwriting samples. Take for instance Rick Marshall, the only thing we have is a poster which may not even be written by him.

Since Zodiac wrote so many letters. It is very possible to ID him on handwriting alone, if sufficient material of the POI is brought forward.

I’ve posted the following info in the past: In 1991 or so, I ran across a greeting card with printing on it that, to my inexpert eyes, looked exactly like Zodiac’s. Makes me suspect Z might have been a graphic artist or, at least, printer.
