I know people have looked into this and explored the possibility of Zodiac belonging to a Satanic cult. This never really interested me all that much, but I noticed something in another thread. The Ray Davis Oceanside thread, someone posted an address for the San Francisco mayor, and I saw that there was a man living in the Presidio Terrace named Henry Untermeyer. At first I didn’t realize that the spelling was different than Untermyer Park in NY where the Satanic cult was known to hang out and hold rituals. I just thought it was interesting that there was an Untermeyer living a block from the Paul Stine murder scene, and so I have been looking to see if Henry Untermeyer was related to Samuel Untermyer, whom Untermyer Park is named after. I have not found that connection yet, but some other interesting things have come up.

If anyone is interested, here is a link to the research I have done so far…

Of possible interest, between 1959 and 1963 HU and his wife EU lived at 224 Cherry St,
that is ca. 50 yards from the intersection of Cherry and Washington St were Paul Stine was murdered.

Louis Untermeyer, (cousin of Henry’s father, Melville) wrote a book (published in 1934), retelling several Gilbert & Sullivan operas, including the Mikado:

Melville Untermeyer was a gem broker, poet, and critic in New York City that died in 1937, at the age of 58, by either jumping or falling from the window of his 10th floor apartment. He and Louis were in the jewelry business together.

Coincidentally, Herman Melville was a writer and poet from… yep, New York City.

Yep. I was doing some research on the Oceanside murder when I noticed the name Untermeyer so I started looking into possible connections to the Son of Sam case. This man, Henry Untermeyer, was born in 1915 so he may have been too old to be Z, but there are other Untermeyers and Untermyers that I have been checking out. The main things I have found so far…..

Henry’s father’s name was Melville. He was a poet, same as Herman Melville, who also was from NY, coincidentally. Melville Untermeyer ran a jewelry business with his cousin, Louis Untermeyer. Louis wrote a book (published in 1934), re-telling several Gilbert & Sullivan operas, including the Mikado. As TF pointed out, Henry lived about 50 yards from the Stine murder in 1959, then moved to the Presidio Terrace address in the mid-60’s.

The biggest connection for me is that Son of Sam show what the Zodiac letters would look like if Zodiac were stupid. I read a few and I saw one word that was longer than two syllables.
