It is possible that Zodiac had a connection to Marin County via the Red Phantom letter, it was postmarked San Rafael after all.

Deb, if Allen was last seen between her work & home, and the barrel she was found in was from her home, is it safe to say she made it home before she was attacked?

What???? Kim Allen was not found in a barrel. The barrel pictured in the newspaper articles is like the one she was known to have had when she left her job in Larkspur but it is not the exact barrel she was carrying.

It is not believed that Kim made it to her home before being killed, none of the other belongings that she was known to have been carrying showed up hat her home.

Now I remember, it was Fred Manalli discussion from the Draftboard letter. We got this draftboard letter before we found out about Ross Sullivan and the fact he was from Syracuse NY. The writing was similar to Manalli’s,as was the mention of the "Marin Hills". I have been interested in this letter since we got it, and I think it is possibly a true Z letter for various reasons(especially interested in it in connection to Fred Manalli or Ross Sullivan). My hope is, that the Author of this letter was checked out closely and ruled out as Z. Whomever wrote this letter was most likely a Z suspect for one reason or another. My gut feeling is, Ross Sullivan wrote it, but the FBI denied my request to get the ID of the Author. The phrase "Marin Hills" interests me too. Sorry to side track this thread,I just wanted to point this letter out as it mentions Marin, and some in this thread were digging into Marin as a clue.

Isobel Watson (33) had just got off the bus on the evening of April 7th 1972 and was walking home along Pine Hill Road,Tamalpais Valley,Marin County at 9.00pm when a light coloured car veered towards her knocking her to the ground

Regarding the symbol..think we should be able to ‘solve’ that one. Some thoughts:

– Symbol appears to not be letters nor figures but rather strange dots
– Could represent some water areas from a map but still look strange for such ones as egno river can be seen
– two smaller dots can be seen to the left of the symbol
– too ‘complicated’ for being a logo or cattle brand
– symbol was drawn carefully with pen/ink
– mirroring/negative leads to no result either
– Z wanted the symbol to be published, thus he either had expected to be reckognized / interpreted correctly or it was supposed to be a secret message for somebody else (eg red phantom)

Any ideas?
