Those lower case "r"s in the zodiac letter from the first post of this thread look a lot like the hand writing from Don Cheney…

He mis-spelled "victim" too.

I have always suspected Cheney. Cheney would describe in detail things that zodiac had done, for example he would say "Arthur told me that you can put a pen-light on a gun and use it to aim a gun in the dark", Don would go into great detail about things that "Arthur had told him", though I have never heard Arthur mention these things, only Cheney, and cheney goes into detail as if they were his ideas, not Allen’s. Maybe cheney was zodiac and he wanted to frame allen. …just thoughts to take with a grain of salt, nothing serious or Valuble, just baseless speculation.

…even in the letter posted here, Cheney was going on about a murder that Allen had committed, and he is describing it as if he actually committed the murder. (The misspelling of victim is an odd note as well, Kodiak would misspell victim as "victom", it’s hard to tell if cheney was writing "victem" or "victom" but it is odd none the less)

Plus, Cheney was an engineer, and if you look at the schematics for the bomb, specially the creative detonation methods using a mirror. If we look at the ciphers, as well as the mount Diablo map, if we look at The map, the Magnetic North annotation, and the instructions regarding radians and inches, and so on, we can see that an engineer would be suited to such tasks…

Again, none of this is very serious, it’s just that cheney has always seemed very suspicious to me… one of my friends thinks that Norman Boudreau, Don Cheney, and Arthur Leigh allen were all involved to some degree, but as for myself I prefer to avoid drawing conclusions and maintaining an open mind.

One of the detectives that interviewed Cheney felt the same way.

I’ve often thought that if there was more than one killer involved in the Zodiac murders, it would be ALA and his buddies working as a "team". Some sort of bizarre murder club they had.

First apologies, this is off topic but generally in line with the title of the thread. Basically, this is a one off point open to interpretation and I doubt it deserves a thread of it’s own. Please feel free to move it.

Anyway, in this letter Zodiac writes:- " The S.F cops could have caught me last night"…. Doesn’t that make it appear that Zodiac was not from San Francisco?
It doesn’t sound right that a person from S.F would be writing to a S.F newspaper and feeling the need to distinguish. However it might be something a person from another jurisdiction might say/write!

I suspect zodiac was living in Vallejo…

Have you watched the "his name was Arthur Leigh allen" documentary? For as much as I think allen was a poor candidate for being zodiac, that film can really alter your perspective, specially regarding Cheney and Boudreau.

…maybe it was always Cheney.

Again, I like to keep an open mind, and to not draw any conclusions, I like to investigate any possible person of interest with out having conflict regarding another possible person of interest. Its best to investigate anybody and everybody openly, if all else fails you could end up proving that whoever you were investigating was not zodiac.
