I can’t remember exactly the source, but I received a notification recently that drew to my attention Tom Voigt’s article on zodiackiller.com about The Old, Buried Bomb.
This is an article that was written in November 2025 about a well-aged IED that was discovered in a backyard during landscaping at an address in Santa Rosa in January 2015. The gist of the write up is evidently to push speculation as to whether this could, in fact, have been The Zodiac’s ‘Buss Bomb’ in situ. As to its size and design, it doesn’t closely match anything from the drawing and description he gave in his April 1970 letter, but it was found in an area that was largely rural at the time in question, according to Tom.
The article also mentions the presumably well-known fact of bomb-making equipment having been found during a search of Allen’s address in Fresno Street, Vallejo.
Although not claiming to be able to match the relevance of either of the above discoveries, I did come across a brief article from June 2011 that also cited “vintage explosives” having been discovered at a rented property in San Francisco, with a little more context added by NBC Bay Area here.
It may be that there are other such explosive finds around the Bay Area since 1970 and, if anyone has any stories or articles of this nature, perhaps you could post something on this thread?

I wouldn’t put much stock in that article. It is just a Zodiac theory, not a fact.
Similar to your Z32 proposed solution as well.
Many of the articles by the author I don’t find very credible. He has no idea where Zodiac placed his alleged device. He doesn’t even know if he buried anything at all.
I have learned that many others do not find this credible as well. From my experience is that if anyone disagrees with anything he says, he just bans them for disagreeing, so that says a lot. He is incapable of winning an argument, unless he is able to silence the person he is arguing with. But this only works on his forums, not the wider internet.
When my Z32 proposed solution is confirmed, which it will be, I will give you an honorable mention, and the same goes for the other forum admin.
How does he even know ALA was the Zodiac? This article is confusing on multiple levels. Quite the stretch, to say the least. As a writer, he is simply trying to tell us all a tale.
He makes many claims about the case as if they were facts, but when others prove him wrong with actual facts, his brain shuts off and he retreats.
Not a fan.
I had read/seen this article not long ago and thought it was funny, not much more.
While the review is negative, it is also honest. I genuinely don’t believe it adds much value to the case, and it is nothing against the author (although I am not a fan due to negative past experience, which elicits the review of the article you have shared).
It could be written by anyone else, and I would say the same thing, so the negative review is unbiased in that regard.
Also if you think the triangle is natural in origin or a watering hole you are a funny guy.

That is probably what the other forum admin thinks as well.

He might be an alright guy, don’t know him, but the article you linked is bogus. Hate to be a buzz kill. Some guy’s internet theory. It is an entertaining narrative. I view it as click bait but others may enjoy it, we all have different tastes. I just prefer to not accept BS as truth when I can avoid it.

I have seen in my short time working on the Z32, which I successfully solved, I might add, that many others are not a massive fan of the author of this specific article.
I have theories as to why that may be, but they are just theories, much like this article.
Many will make up a story because it sounds cool to them, churn out another blog article, and hit publish. Wash, rinse, repeat. The more sensational the topic, the more clicks. It ain’t rocket science, and I respect the click generation tactics. Just think it is wrong.
Still, he thinks it is right. He wrote an article about it, after all.
However he is not the one that determines truth. He is still allowed to share his theories, but when they are presented as if they are fact, without proof, I cannot accept it.
Also your search for other similar articles will be a pointless waste of time. I have already found what you seek, you are simply too blind to see it. You will open your other eye one day, it seems you only have one based on your profile picture.
And you might need a monocle. Once you acquire one, look at my profile picture and prove that is natural in origin.
