At the end of this letter, Z warn’s..

"Have fun!! By the way it could be rather messy if you try to bluff me."

What, or who is he directing this comment at? Who would he have a reason to think may try to bluff him, and in what way?

Also, he end’s the letter with an odd comment: To prove that I am the Zodiac, Ask the Vallejo cop about my electric gun sight which I used to start my collecting of slaves.

Why does he feel he need’s to to finish by Proving that he is The Zodiac? He has stated in this letter earlier "you were useing fire trucks to mask the sound of your cruzeing prowl cars. The dogs never came with in 2 blocks of me + they were to the west + there was only 2 groups of parking about 10 min apart then the motor cicles went by about 150 ft away going from south to north west" so that in itself would seem to be proof that he is who he says he is. Just seems odd that he, for no real reason, ends by implying that the reader is not going to believe him. And who is the Vallejo Cop he want’s the reader to ask? Zodiac only ever claimed in a letter that he had used a gun sight, and here he talks as if one of the Vallejo Cops can confirm this as factual.

In his previous letter Zodiac states "What I did was tape a small pencel flash light to the barrel of my gun." Then in this letter he refer’s to this as ‘My Electric gun sight’.

Just a few comments by Z I find odd, and if anyone knows what and/or who Z was referring to in any of the above, or their own theory on these matters, then feedback would be appreciated.

The letter opens with Z complaining about police telling lies about him. So when he speaks about being bluffed I assume he is referring to them also, making statements that he feels are not true, in order to draw him out force him into a mistake. Who knows maybe he genuinely felt he did not leave fingerprints at the scene!

As to the comment about the Gun sights and proof….he’s now writing to the Chronicle/S.F.P.D, (different jurisdiction)when he first mentioned this it was in a letter to the Vallejo Times Herald/ V.P.D. Hence check with V.P.D, I spoke about Gun sights before…Maybe?

But to say ‘To prove I am the Zodiac’, is to suggest that someone either has demanded evidence of the claim, or that he feel’s as though they do not believe him, neither of which seem to be the case in the article to which he is responding. Cheif Lee did call Zodiac a Liar in the article for claiming he was in Julius Kahn playground, but never suggested, or even implied, that he thought the writer was lying about who he actually was. I mean he had sent a piece of Paul Stine’s shirt with his latest letter so any doubt that Zodiac had really comitted the crime was removed with the piece of shirt that accompanied the letter and its claim that ‘Zodiac’ had been responsible for the cab drivers murder.
