Hi,
inside the citizen letter, Z writes ‘Kit + Holly’…Kit + Holly refers to Charles Starkweather and Caril Ann Fugate, two teenage spree killers.

There is the idea that Z as a cinema buff simply watching Badlands and therefore had referred to it. Another option could be that Z somehow was connected to this case elsewise. Badlands had appeared in the cinemas at least one year earlier, what makes me a bit supicious is that Z is referring to the year 1959. The Starkweather/Fugate murder spree happened in 1958, but Starkweather was executed in 1959. Z refers to the ad for the movie, eventually has never seen it by himself.
Anybody an idea which ad it had been? Like days before he had sent the letter, SF Chronicle? Badlands had opened on a Friday, letter was sent on Wednesday..

Quicktrader,
I don’t have an answer for you. I am sorry.
However, I am wondering what your thoughts might be concerning Starkweathers employment at the Western Newspaper Union warehouse? They created and sentout patent insides to over 200 small time western newspapers.
Soze
Charles Starkweather’s final victim was attacked and murdered in his car, as was the Zodiac’s. This final act ultimately was to bring about the demise of Charles Starkweather, whereas the Zodiac Killer exited the scene of Washington and Cherry Streets, never to be seen again. On January 29th 1958, Starkweather and Fugate were fleeing towards the state of Wyoming, near Douglas, but they needed to get rid of their 1957 Packard Patrician, as it was attracting too much attention. They spotted a traveling salesman Merle Collison (37) sleeping in his Buick and demanded that he relinquish his vehicle, but when he refused Starkweather shot him nine times in total.
However here is an interesting ‘coincidence’. Both final acts of Starkweather and Zodiac involved murdering someone in their car and the licence plate of the Packard was 2-17415, whereas Paul Stine’s taxicab was Y-17413. I wonder what people would have said if it was identical.
January 29th and the end of Charles Starkweather’s reign is exactly the same date as the Exorcist Letter and presumably the end of the reign of the Zodiac Killer.
Wow that’s interesting UKSPYCATCHER

You will also notice that there is a street guide resting near the body of Paul Stine and in the Merle Collison crime scene photographs, a road atlas lies in close proximity also.
There ya go. Chester and his GF – just like those two. The missing man and woman from CJB (chester and his gf?). The bootprint made by a smaller foot inside a larger shoe but still weight more than it should? How do you explain that? A woman inside the boot. Two guys with the flashlights (loren and chester). So maybe the gf is just a pyscho and one of them planted the watch and this is what led to Chester shooting him twice in the chest and twice in the head? Did chester’s gf ever get out of prison? What was she upto in 1982? Did either or them or Loren have any ties to glendale other than Loren’s uncle? I’m thinking that dropped a’ typewriter was a gift to Loren from pops and in 82 someone brought it out of retirement (or back in action if another typewriter was used but I think this explains why letters are ALL caps).
Thanks if anyone can answer.
That whole family was obsessed with killers. The starkweather thing makes so much sense now for chester and his gf…don’t know who Loren fits in though. Maybe just selling them drugs? Maybe they used his typewriter for the letters or Loren helped with the letters and kills too? I’d bet he found a letter or saw that in the papers and knew it was his dropped a typewriter. Imo Loren looks most like z and his face is in that family. I think it’s pops and uncle covering everything up and inventing the Zodiac. Once stine is killed no more need for killings, just phantom letters. Brilliant…but twisted.
