As good a reason as any. Nice thinking though to try and see alternative reasonings in his timings as opposed to content. I’m always interested in things that might actually live up to his claim of being "too clever" beyond the ciphers and codes. A method in his madness as yet unclear, if you will.

Yes, it’s hard not to think (as far as Z was concerned) that the Little list letter was the more important. I think it’s also likely that it was probably already written or well into production. So it becomes a vaild question as to why he felt the need to send the KJ letter seperately in the context of timing. The idea that i’ve held for a while is that he needed the Little list letter to be the 13th.
I still believe there’s something going on "inside" the letters in connection to their order of arrival, at least in some circumstances.
As we know the sixth letter (Pen card) had the word "thing" underlined 6 times followed by 6 exclamanation marks. the accompanying cipher with the deleted symbol six in and six down from the right hand side.

He may not be always counting the scores as kills. Certainly tallies that he started that way but he did "enjoy needling the blue pigs" so maybe he just started counting anything that involved him but didn’t result in him being caught. Perhaps in his own ego twisted mind he allowed KJ to live by providing her with a "coupple howers" of opportunity to escape – he could have killed her if he’d wanted to and no-one could have stopped him so it might as well have been a kill. Like releasing a fish after you’ve caught it.

Zodiac was not God, and some of his plans didn’t work out. It was kind of humorous if not macabre. I escaped into the darkness with my two small

Johns’ story. I’m sorry I never met her. Also in my opinion, my POI would have never added anyone to his list total that he didn’t kill. He would have never added
Kathleen to the list for example. It would have been an absolute matter of principal. Everything was black or white, all killings were justifed in his mind.
