I have been reading from this site for quite some time and really appreciate all the hard work from the members. Here is my first post so please be easy on me:

I consider Ann often in relation to the Zodiac case. I’ve also wondered if the fingerprint left on PS’s cab could have been from one of zodiac’s victims. Considering Ann disappeared 9 days before the PS murder perhaps (in theory) the fingerprint is Ann Bernice Duncan’s? The Zodiac mentioned that he didn’t leave prints behind because he covered his fingertips in industrial airplane adhesive. So if he can’t leave prints, why did he stay behind to "wipe down" his prints from the cab? My theory: it is because he wasn’t wiping down prints, but instead was placing a print to create a false lead and taunt the police.

The print had a slash across it which makes me further question if that slit was a defensive wound that Ann (or maybe even a different victim) sustained when she was attempting to fight off the Zodiac’s blade? Many times the hands/fingers of victims are cut as they try to grab a knife and avoid being stabbed by their assailant.

Ann went missing on 10-3-1969 – The Zodiac had sent a letter with three punched holes above 10 punched holes. Was he hinting to the 3rd day of the 10th month?

I almost am beginning to think the Zodiac had major issues with the idea of promiscuity and unwanted pregnancy bc of the lovers lane angle. We never hear of him sexually assaulting the females which indicates that an inability to have sex may not necessarily be his sole reason for wanting to kill. Perhaps he was a foster child at one point in his life and he took issue with the subject of unplanned pregnancy and pregnancy out of wedlock as it was the precise reason for his neglected upbringing. He wants attention so badly by murdering that an attention seeking behavioral disorder has to be a part of his psychological profile. Many times this disorder is exasterbated when the subject with ASB is neglected by parents/guardians/peers. Ann had at least 5 children in Foster care and went missing after an appointment with social services. If the Zodiac is responsible for murdering Ann this might give us significant further insight into his motivations.

Interesting post PinkPhantom, and welcome aboard too. It has been mentioned in the past that some unknown Victim may have been killed by Z, and he used their finger print. It’s certainly possible,but i personally doubt it.

The Duncan case is within the Zodiac timeline and extremely close to the Paul Stine murder on two fronts, date and location, after all we do have unaccounted victims in the Zodiac total of seven by November 8th 1969. I too doubt the finger aspect, but nonetheless an interesting post.

Circumstances of Disappearance
Oct 3, 1969 for an appointment with Social Services in San Francisco, regarding placement of her then 6 week old infant son in foster care. She never showed up for her next appointment. The courts later declared the baby was abandoned by all parents, and deemed available for adoption. Routine weekly visits to her other children in foster care abruptly stopped in this same approximate time frame.

Family feels she would not have abandoned her children whom she dearly loved, and although was not able at the time to care for them herself, visited weekly without fail while all were in foster care. Occasional phone calls routinely made to her mother also stopped in this time frame. From 3 different statements Ann made to 3 different people, family feels she was fearful of her well being and suspect she may have been murdered.

Thanks for finding that information on Ann’s ex husband. Perhaps he is the reason she went missing. Wondering if Duncan and Z ever crossed paths without knowing each other’s deep dark secrets… How creepy.

Wow very tragic. This family had a lot of heartache.

I guess the million dollar question in her case is when was the husband arrested for the rape charges and was he held in custody pending trial or was he free? Knowing he was in the picture and at least capable of rape, I would consider him the prime suspect.
