I have included Sherry Smith because her murder appears in the Schneider articles. There actually is a suspect for her murder named John Annibel. Sherry’s murder did occur in Humboldt County like the others but in a different area of that large county. Annibel has never been charged with Sherry’s murder nor the other 5-10 he is suspected of committing in both Humboldt and Mendocino counties in the ’80’s and 90’s. Sherry was believed to be his first victim. Annibel is serving a life sentence for the murder of Debbie Sloan in Mendocino County. A good book on Annibel is "Deadfall" by Robert Scott. You won’t find too much about him online.

Thank you , I will do my best to help. Sometimes I get lucky , other times no luck. I was lucky in finding information today on the victims Seagull needed info on. Found a few more victims. Also found the prime suspect in those cases named John Annibel who is in prison for the murder of Debbie Sloan age 42. He was convicted at age 41 in 1999. I posted on Seagulls link at Zodiac Killer.com.

Skull of Woman Missing for 22 Years Is Identified

Twenty-two years after a Fortuna woman’s disappearance, a skull found Aug. 9 on Pacific Lumber Co. property has been identified by the Humboldt County coroner’s office as hers.
Andrea LaDeRoute, 21, was living in Fortuna with her boyfriend, John Annibel, who was 22 at the time she disappeared in 1980. Annibel reported her missing and was a suspect in her disappearance, but was never charged.
Annibel was convicted in 1999 of the first-degree murder of Deborah Sloan, 42, of Laytonville in Mendocino County.

Thanks Zamantha, Web sleuths is where I found most of my information on the victims. When I started my search , I had only read where Seagull asked for help for any information.
I missed seeing her post where she had most of the information already. Thanks for pointing that out to me.
I think the person who was arrested did all of those girls , the MO was exactly the same.
Why he wasn’t arrested for Andrea La DeRoute’s murder is a mystery in itself? She lived with the killer in Fortuna when she went missing 3-18-80. Her skull was found 8-9-2002. Maybe she knew too much?
He certainly could be responsible for her Santa Rosa murders?
