I thought we had moved some details of this case over from the old forum, but we hadn’t, so here goes. This case is talked about often in relation to Zodiac(not often enough in my opinion). The M.O. is close, as is the location to possible Z victims, Domingos/Edwards.
The couple was found early in the morning on Sunday 2/22/70. They had been killed the previous evening. They had both been beaten & shot as they laid on the beach, no obvious signs of motive, no rape, etc. Once again, the location of their murders was close to that of Domingos & Edwards 7 years before. That case has been mentioned by many as possibly being Zodiac, and Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s dept considers Zodiac a suspect in that case. The murders of Sandra & John, are also similar to the murders of Joyce & Johnny Swindle in the San Diego area in 1962.

I am surprised that nobody has commented on this being that Garcia worked for the DMV and Z had sent a letter to the head of DMV. And, it seems very Z-like IMO.
The case is interesting, however:
"Two young men were observed at a service station ‘washing wounds alleged to have been caused in a fight in the beach area’ several hours before the blanket-covered bodies were discovered. Detectives said one of the men had a vertical cut across the center of his forehead, extending from his hairline to an eyebrow. The other man had a wound on the back of his right hand. They were seen a light blue sedan with primer spots on the right side and trunk deck."
– Robin Graham was seen with guy driving a blue car with primer
– Manson family was known to drive around with buggies, the buggy was – moreless – identified as one of theirs
– Regional context of case with area of Manson family (Spahn ranch)

Certainly a possibility. M.O similar and no apparent motive.
Reiterates my belief that the "4-teen" on the Halloween card is clever misdirection that hides the truth. No, Z didn’t have four teens as victims (he had more), he had a total of fourteen. The Halloween card is a truth-telling document replete with puzzles and clues to Z’s identity. He hid them and laughed all the way to his grave.
