Gardengirl, everyone has their own opinion about the Hakari -Bennallack cases. Hakari age 23 was last seen 3-7-70, her body was found 4-25-70. Zodiac wrote a letter 3 days later.
Nancy Bennallack age 27 was killed in her apt, which was "very close" to where Judith Hakari’s apt was. Nancy’s body was found on 10-25-70 (6 days before Halloween) She was not raped, which as far as we know, Zodiac wasn’t a rapist. He sent his Halloween card to Paul Avery on 10-27-70, two days after Nancy B was killed. He could very well have been staying in that area, we just don’t know. We know that he also sent a letter to DMV in Sacramento.
I believe that Zodiac did not slow down his killing , that he went all over Calif. Its important to remember that Zodiac usually did write around the times of his murders.
May I suggest that you study these cases yourself and then form your opinion. Don’t go by what I or others believe.
Thank you Sandy. Well, if you think there is reason to look at these cases to see if they are connected to Zodiac, then I will see what I can find.
I just want to spend my time here on the board helping out with what is most important and no one has had a chance to look at so much. There is no
reason for me to start on something that has 20 other researchers looking at, and my repeating there work, if there is something that has not been looked
at yet, and I have the time to do so.
I saw this thread and saw not much information posted here so thought it might be a good place for me to start.
so maybe I’ll do some quick research and see what I dig up. Then go from there if it looks promising.
A full DNA profile of the offender has been developed in the Nancy Bennallack case. Since they have a partial DNA profile of the Zodiac, then it is my guess he has been ruled out in the murder of Nancy Bennallack. It is extremely unlikely Zodiac had anything to do with Hakari also.

Story about Judith Hakari. There is a short video with some photographs.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) —
It’s been 47 years since Judith Hakari was found murdered and buried in a shallow grave after being kidnapped weeks earlier, and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is still looking for the person responsible.
Hakari, 23-years-old then, was returning home around midnight on March 7, 1970 from work as a nurse. When she didn’t arrive home, her fiancé went out to the apartment complex’s parking lot and found her car with the light on and the door ajar, Links said. Hakari’s fiancé filed a missing person’s report.
About seven weeks later, her body was found in a shallow grave in Placer County, in the town of Weimar.
KCRA-TV
“She had been sexually assaulted and battered about the head and strangled,” Links said. “And to this day, we have not found the perpetrator.”
No DNA of the suspect was found, so the Sheriff’s Department relies on tips from the public.
“The evidence in this case was pretty degraded because she had been buried in a shallow grave,” Links said. “But with the newer technology that we have, we are hoping some of that evidence can be reanalyzed and hope to find some DNA.”
If anybody has information about Hakari’s death, please call (916) 874-8477.

tahoe do you know if Judith knew Donna Lass or Ann Lowe or if they ever worked together.
Thanks to those who posted on this, I’m glad to learn that they have a full DNA profile of the Bennallack killer, from his blood left at the scene. I think this case has not attracted a lot of attention from Z researchers. If anyone has knowledge or evidence on this case, please share it. Also, if anyone has had contact with the Sacramento Sheriffs Department on this case and/or retired Sgt. Micki Links, please contact me via private message.
While this home invasion is a different MO for Zodiac, we have seen with the GSK case and others that MO can change over time. The single female matches Cheri Jo Bates. I find it somewhat compelling that while the body was discovered on 10/26/70, Zodiac apparently sent the Halloween card to Avery claiming a new 14th victim before the Bennallack murder hit the papers.
Someone commented that the sketch of the suspect in the Bennallack case resembled the sketch of the man seen by the teen girls at Lake Berryessa on 9/27/69, who may have been the Zodiac. Neither sketch is very detailed, or the man (men) may have just had a bland, smooth face lacking in unusual details, but there is some basic similarity. It could be the same man. The age, height and weight descriptions match other descriptions of Zodiac, and the SF sketch is different in some ways, but shares the smooth face with no major defects.

I have commented before that the sketch (on the left) reminds me of the description given by the girls at LB. Zodiac? I have my doubts, but anything is surely possible.
AK Wilks,
I didn’t want to follow-up comment on your current post in the ‘Possible Suspects’
topic section so as to leave that post at the fore of that section, but as regards
Nancy Bennallack, I understand there is another (later?) sketch, posted by
Uncle Sporkums on TV’s site, which resembles a bit more closely the LB Zodiac
sketch (this is actually the sketch whose resemblance I mentioned to you);
https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/zodiack … ml#p134836
(According to poster drdoogie here;
http://earonsgsk.proboards.com/post/217140
…"it appears that it is from the Sacramento Bee, May 16, 1971."
Maybe Seagull could check this?? )
In regard to this sketch, it has a slightly less ’round face’ and a somewhat more
‘pointy chin’ than the Lake Berryessa sketch – my thought on this is that if a
person is simply walking (say, down near a lake) then they tend to have their mouth
shut, but if a person is engaging in a more vigorous physical activity (say, having
dropped themselves to the ground from a balcony) then their mouth will be open
or at least partly open to breath a bit more deeply – as a result, an observer might
well recall that person as having had a somewhat more pointy chin than would an
observer seeing them with their mouth quite closed.
Regarding Judith Hakari, Dana (aka prettydeathseller) in NYC has some useful research;

Yes I agree, buyerninety and Tahoe. The similarities between the Zodiac LB sketch and the more detailed Bannallack suspect sketch are noticeable enough that they could be the same man.They both are also generally similar to one of the many looks of TK.Thanks for finding that and the other information.

These could have been DeAngelo (GSK) murders, though the DNA comparison may have already been done.

The Bennallack murder does have characteristics of GSK, but the DNA profile of the killer was entered into CODIS, and it did not match the GSK DNA, which matched to DeAngelo. So DeAngelo cannot be the Bennallack killer.
