I read about it here: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/zodiack … t7945.html

So there is no viable dnasample to rule out anyone assuming this is true.

And can law enforcement say with 100% certainty they have the zodiac killers fingerprints?

That announcement was in January. In April DeAngelo was arrested and Gedmatch came into the game.

Why not run the ‘faulty’ sample profile through Gedmatch now?

A guess would be the letters are sitting in a lab in Hayward, and either they haven’t started on them yet, or they’ve so far come up empty.

If you put stock in the Travel Channel show, then they apparently did pull at least a partial profile, which is now in the hands of a genealogy company.

I still find it an interesting coincidence ALA and Deangelo were both divers and ex-Navy.

JJD and ALA, both ex-Navy rapists and pedophiles who were into scuba diving in the Bay Area.

Birds of a feather much?

ALA’s Salt Point diving alibi seems paper-thin. I’d focus your investigation on that.

Art Allen may have been the only known / publicized suspect, but there is another person who has not yet been identified or publicized.

And that is the man from Vallejo who I escaped from the winter of 1968, he fits everything that we know about the killer. He walks ,talks and writes exactly like the Zodiac and yet he has been ignored.
I interviewed a witness who got away from him, as he tried to kill her with a long knife that he kept under the front seat of his blue truck back in the 1990’s. It has taken years to get the first name of Tony aka Anthony that he uses. He was working in construction in the 90’s as I had expected, by looking at the picture I was able to take of him Aug 10th 1990. The gray dust showing on his knees , top of hos shoes and on his hands could have been from concrete or plaster work?

I am hoping that the DNA that VPD has sent in to be tested will solve the Zodiac case.

Just because we have not heard anything yet ,doesn’t mean that they are not still going through the process of zeroing in on a suspect.
I believe that no news is good news.

It took several months to catch DeAngelo, we didn’t know anything until the arrest was made.
I hope that is the case with Zodiac.

ALA ruled out (DNA).

QT

Afaik the 2002 DNA sample hasn’t ruled anyone out since it was not retreived from the back of the stamp (could’ve belonged to anyone who handled the letter). If they had a real Zodiac DNA sample they would’ve used gedmatch already and solved the case. There’s a thread about the 2002 dna sample at Tom’s site.

We know now the DNA testing was a joke.

I don’t understand why so many are fixated on the 2002 DNA????? There was a good sample taken in the 1990’s ! Get off the 2002 TV show fiasco , that was for a TV show and not a true DNA test.
Everyone knows you don’t go on the outside of a envelope that has been contaminated. Do people really think that a camera crew would be allowed in a sterile lab? DNA has proven to be a very valuable tool in solving cold cases. It will be what solves the Zodiac case!

Well, because the 2002 dna was used to rule out suspects of course. And the 1990 dna sample is most likely not Zodiacs as mentioned in this article by Richard Grinell: https://www.zodiacciphers.com/zodiac-ne … 978-letter posted 10/21/2018

Furthermore, if the 1990 dna was 100% Zodiac why would they send in letters early 2018 to try and get a dna sample if they already have it?

Because what they had from the 1990’s was only a "partial " sample and not a "full" DNA sample. They need a full one to do like what was done in the DeAngelo case.

The partial that SFPD have was not taken from the 1978 letter, that letter was "thought" not to be from the Zodiac.

I am looking forward to the day when we are told "oops , that 78 letter really was a true Zodiac letter".
