I know there used to be one or two posters at one time who claimed they were at School with Cheri. I think there was even one who was at the scene the following morning. In any case, if you are around, is there any way you could supply a rough sketch of the area please?

Unfortunately we can only roughly guess where Cheri’s car was parked in relation to everything else and whether it was at the end of a cul-de-sac. How well lit or otherwise that area was and what those buildings were behind her car/ who occupied them etc would all be very useful information.I believe there are several important factors to discuss depending on same.

Thanks.

Weir, here is a link to the old forum where Tahoe posted some vintage pictures of the RCC campus. I hope you still have access to the old forum.

http://zodiackillersite.forummotion.com … r-location

The aerial view of RCC shows the spot where Cheri Jo was found (X) and where the library was located. Cheri Jo’s car was parked on the street, not in a cul-du-sac. It was parked on Terracina Dr., behind the library in the aerial photo.

I moved the thread to this site: viewtopic.php?f=33&t=102

T., I still would love to know this too, and I have figured out what the red "x" is for, but not where her car would have been and so on. :(

Thanks guys….In the reports I’ve read there are two explanations for where Cheri’s car was parked (probably refer to the same thing)

1. On terracina
2 In a cul de sac just off terracina.

As I understand it and I’m probably wrong…Terracina actually comes to a dead end. So maybe that’s where the mix up is?
I’m also looking at the pictures of Cheri’s car and it appears (judging by the fence and houses behind) that it was some kind of dead end/end of street.

I’m just trying to figure out if that is correct, exactly where that was in relation to the library entrance and if that particular spot was well lit or otherwise.
Also if those pictures are correct…if the bulidings behind were private residences or school buildings.

Undoubtedly such information could have a whole different bearing on the way this case has been evaluated over the years.

I believe that the photo of Cheri’s car was taken once the car was moved to the police station. At least that is the prevailing consensus of those who have researched this.

I like the "Late News" photo Trav, but the editorial tends to make me believe it’s got nothing to do with Cheri JB….. :?:

The Late News pic was taken in 1962, so nothing to do with CJB, just a glimpse of the ally.

HA! The VW in the ’62 pic has a small rear window, Cheri’s was a newer model with a large rear window. The cars have the old black lettering on a yellow background license plates. Cheri’s license plate was yellow on black, a newer plate. This is car stuff Smithy right up your alley……

AH, didn’t know that! I had always assumed it was part of crime scene, especially when looking at the photo with the door open and books on the seat. You would think they would want to take shots of the evidence with everything as exactly found. Do you know if that concensus is based on some particular knowledge or general assumptions/guesswork?

Thanks.

The two photos of the car (door opened and closed) were taken in the same place.

I do agree…what’s the point of a photo AFTER it has been moved. "Here is what it looked like after it was towed and we opened the door"….why?

The DOJ report does state her car was parked in front of the school on pavement. (although there have been errors in their reports)

Those photos don’t jibe with what the school looked like "out front".

I wonder when they discovered her car? Maybe it was towed before they even knew she was dead. ??

D., I was immediately sure that the editorial meant it wasn’t her car and I left it at that. Don’t be naughty!

Here’s a quote from one of CJB’s classmates, who also claims to have been at the scene the following morning:-

"The car was parked on the main road by the library, which was a dead end, right by the library"!

It also seems strange to me that police ( if indeed those photos were taken at headquarters) that they would park the car where they did. Surely they would want to photograph from all sides and position the car accordingly..open the passenger door and shoot the books etc as opposed to sticking it up against that shed or whatever it is.
