There were a few Ronald Fong’s in SF in the 1969-1970 Polk’s Directory. Only a couple had their middle initial in the listing and neither of those had the middle initial of H. I was able to find one of the remaining Ronald Fong’s (who lived at 101 17th Ave. SF) and learned he had a middle initial of H but I do not know the middle name. That Ronald Fong is still living and he was born April 26, 1930.

So 101 17th Ave. SF is 1.2 miles away from the Stine murder scene.
That means he can be placed in the direct vicinity of 2 zodiac scenes !

Can anyone find picture or get some background on this guy like was in he in the military or lived in Riverside ?
and yes i know the mr.fong is most likely Asian and innocent but we don’t know until we have picture and can’t hurt knowing the background.

Note to mods i don’t know if this in the right thread now ?

1.2 miles is quite a distance.

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

That’s only a 20 minute walk. I guess it depends on relativity.

I’m thinking along the lines of San Francisco and "direct vicinity". Just my take.

Certainly nothing wrong with trying to see what the man looked like though. :)

Well hell, even in that aspect, what’s the surface area of SF? 1.2 miles is actually fairly minute in this aspect!

I’m not saying it makes this individual a suspect, by far. It is interesting, however.

I suppose it would be. Especially if one had a POI. (not being sarcastic– :) )

I just went to the DOJ report to see if I could confirm that the Ronald H Fong I found was definitely the fisherman. He is according to the report which describes him as Ronald Henry Fong, DOB 4-26-30. As I said he is still living and additionally,he now lives in Washington state.

According to the city directory Fong’s occupation at the time was "clk PO" which I take to mean that he was a clerk at the Post Office.
