Can somebody point out on a map the exact location of the Stella Borges Ranch. 2.7 miles from crime scene.
Graysmith states it is at Fairgrounds Drive, but the reports indicate Lake Herman Road. What is the reason for the discrepancy.
Can u provide a link on Google Maps. Cheers.

In this case, refer to the police report (although they are wrong sometimes too)

We had some discussion about this at the zk.com message board a while back. I was confused about it too. The police seemed to be very meticulous with their measurement…to the exact spot, which they wrote as being on Lake Herman Road.

Tom & Ed. N. stated their thoughts about it here: http://zodiackiller.fr.yuku.com/topic/1 … 0RTY0nn8eg

They determined the ranch was actually on Sky Valley Way. A point I continued to question, but as mentioned, police reports can be inaccurate. The cops just seemed so articulate…

Here is the place (if it was on Sky Valley) it must have been. Further up on LHR puts in near the quarry.

It appears the police reports were inaccurate…which just seems so odd to me with that measurement!

An article appeared in the Benicia Herald and shows a photograph of the home. There used to be one across the road as well. Here it is:

Sky Valley Road, is off of Lake Herman Road. Ranches are large, so perhaps the Ranch was on both borders, hence the confusion. I always think of Borges Ranch on Lake Herman, but not sure where the main entrance was to get into the ranch, perhaps the long side road of Sky Valley.

The police report mentioned her "home" on Lake Herman Road…not the ranch.

It had to have been an error or possibly a typo.

Police are city people, everythings a home. I know a lot of people who live on a ranch & they all call their home & property the ranch. In order to get a better view of the property lines & road(s) leading into it, one would have to track down the records for that year.
Are there photos of their entire piece of property? What are the reasons, Tom & Ed said Sky Valley Road? Did that road also, enter into the ranch/home area?

No.

You can see the area in the first photo where that distance specified ends up and it is nowhere near the photo of Stella’s home. Why would they base it off the far outskirts? They say Lake Herman Road and we have a photograph of the house there, which appears to be on the ranch. It was obviously an error as far as distance.

Others who were familiar with her property have confirmed it was on LHR.

For the doubters.

Here is Tahoe’s post.

Here is the aerial view of the ranch that Tahoe posted above.

And here are two more Google street views of the house at two different zooms. You can see from these two images that it is the same house that Stella Borges’s nephew is standing in front of and it is the same house in the aerial view by the white car and the propane tank in the yard. In the further away image you can see the palm trees.

Tahoe,

I saw your posts at Zodiackiller.com concerning the 2.7 miles today. The last post I recall you making, showed a photo of the ranch from a side view that included a white car out front. Below it was a map showing points A and B. Point B is obviously the crime scene. Point A, I’m assuming, is where you believe 2.7 miles along lake Herman road would be.

Interestingly, I just happened to come across a map of the exact spot of your point A 2 days ago but not for the 2.7 miles but for, Marshall Ranch. Perhaps this is where the discrepancy is coming from. Perhaps law enforcement was thinking Marshall Ranch and applied it to Borges.

I believe the entrance to the Marshall Ranch was fairly close to the crime scene.

This A-B (which is the last one posted at Tom’s) is from the Borgess Ranch to the crime scene as shown by the photo with the nephew. It is not 2.7 miles. More like 1.5 miles.

That’s the Borges Ranch pictured above? That shack pretending to be a house is ‘The Ranch?’ If this is what the people of Napa consider as qualifying as a ranch, then a home in Pacific Heights must be seen as above and beyond a mansion, and compared in it’s likeness and size to that of the Emerald City situated in Oz. Serious, that shed in a field is the now famous ‘Borges Ranch?’

That picture is from a Google street view taken in 2011. I imagine that back in 1968, 43 years prior, the ranch looked a lot better. The Borges family sold the property in the ’70’s and it obviously has fallen into disrepair.
