Morf check the date that you have said the article was written, please, here and on the other thread with the article. I think it was written January 31, 1971 not December 31. 1971.
All other sources have said that the desk poem was found by a janitor. Perhaps the janitor first reported finding the desk to a librarian who then reported it to authorities.
