That’s incorrect, former RPD Detective Steve Shumway pointed out on the History Channel
documentary that Cheri’s VW Beetle was parked directly in front of the library. (where the
small green dash is on the photo)
It’s interesting there are no photos of Cheri’s car at the crime scene, The local newspaper
must have taken dozens of photos of the crime scene area that day.

No if you watch the Doc they are standing in the place shown when he states that it was the area that the car was. They insinuated that the it was parked out the library on the graphics but the actual video and statement was the location highlighted.
I rewatched the part where they said her car was parked, first they showed the graphic that shows her
car parked in front of the old library then they cut to an overhead shot in front of the current library
with a voice over that may indicate her car as parked there but it seems very ambiguous, so I don’t know
what to think ?
I think it’s important to know exactly where her car was found to come up with theory’s as to what might
have happened that night, it seems strange there are no photos of her car at the crime scene, like they
are keeping something secret !
One would think the local newspaper would have a photo available to the public.
Cragle,
Here is a poor source, to be sure, but nevertheless;
From the Wiki, citing Greysmith’s book,
"Zodiac: The Shocking True Story of America’s Most Elusive Serial Killer", p165,
"Bates’s Beetle was parked just 75 yards east of the location where her body was discovered".
A bigger mystery for me is why monarch ignores PM’s…

Sorry Buyerninety, I rarely receive PM’s so I almost never think to check my inbox.
My 1965 Riverside phone book (on CD ROM) lists a R.I. Atwood at 4510 Lemon St.
There is a Mrs. Howard C. Atwood at 4586 Olivewood which is very close to 4510 Lemon St.
also there is a Isabelle Atwood at 7431 Magnolia Ave. which is 1.5 blocks from Cheri’s High School
and a Arnold Atwood at 3565 Beechwood Pl. which is 600 yards from the Bates crime scene ( I thought
the above listings close proximity was kind of strange ?)
As far as the Beetle in the youtube video goes I’m not sure if that proves anything one way or the other,
but I think the plants and grass in the color photo of Cheri’s car prove her car is not any shade of green
that I can see, There is a bit of orangish "tint" on the side of her car that I think is caused by the sun low
on the horizon.
This is the location of where the car was parked on the night of the murder. A bit further away from the Library than first speculated. (This is information that was revealed in the History Channel Documentary).
The picture with the small green dash was where her car was and the red dot is where her body was found. I am glad to see the "mistaken spot" has an X through it.
I was told a few days ago by someone who gets information from Riverside, that the new detective there is re-opening Cheri Jo’s case! Fingers crossed they will do something with the DNA found in her hand!
Yes indeed, fingers crossed !
