Thank you for digging up the letter. This is exactly what I would expect the letter to look like, blurry and hard to read. There are even fold lines that further verify that it is most likely photocopy, not a transcription, of the original.
I’m guessing that the versions we have seen of the letter are different because the transcribers had different beliefs as to what the letter said and that the letter writer didn’t mail out two different versions.
It sure looks like VICTOM to me. Compare the other I’s and O’s in the letter.
Now, if this is more or less what the original(s) looked like, it lends support to the "not two versions" theory, IMO. It’s very blurry – several words which can be interpreted in this way or that.
Great find! There isn’t a transcription of the letter in the FBI files, by the way – preferably one done by the FBI themselves?

According to the stats, there are three common ways to misspell the word: victum, victom and victem.
The first is the most common, but victom follows pretty closely. Roughly one fourth of the people who misspell victim do so following Z’s example.
To be exact, victum was opted for by 34% of the people who misspelled the word, followed by victom at 23% and victem at 13%.
These are stats from spellchecker.net, based on millions of spell checks between 2010 and 2012. But – and that is the key question here – how many people misspell victim to begin with? Is it a commonly misspelled word?
Anyway, if it is indeed VICTOM then it’s one more in the bag no matter how you look at it. And I’m pretty sure "victim" is less commonly misspelled than "twitch".

(In my original post I had the DOJ´s ORIGINAL Line 3: written as VICTOM when it in fact said VICTON, I have now corrected it.
I find it SO odd how LE apparently changed and added words, even sentences, in the original Confession letter when writing out a copy, bc as I understand it the "yellow Confession letter" is a copy written by LE right?.

Hope I get some luck with getting copies of these letters & envelopes from the FBI. Not that they will look excellent, but they may be somewhat better
