Written on the Fouke encounter description in the Bus Bomb letter. Does this suggest that he had been having some experience with some of his letters being held back or some parts of his letters being edited by the papers? Just curious what others had thought about that.
No, he was just highlighting the encounter with the police that the newspapers were not reporting, and in fact never reported.
After courageously refusing the demand to print the ‘cops pulled a goof’ detail as well as the first bomb threat there were no confirmed Zodiac murders or bombings that we have been informed of. I find it curious that the April 20, 1970 My Name Is cipher letter with the bus bomb diagram [and the April 28 Dragon card] convinced them to finally comply with publication [May 1, 1970]. In this video clip of a press conference Armstrong suggests that they took the threat seriously, but hadn’t Zodiac already proven that his threats were a bluff?

Predictably this renewed attention given to Zodiac seemed to encourage further terror correspondences. Was encouraging Zodiac to send further potentially revealing material their intention or did they have reason to believe this second bomb design might actually work and thus a credible threat? I’m just curious if anyone has any thoughts on this. Thanks
