Once again the further we dig, the deeper the hole gets.
Now according to Joanne, she drove up alone on Sat. 9/6/70, to meet with Donna after Donna got off of work. Joanne was at the Sahara waiting to see Donna when Donna got off. This was all pre planned between Donna and Joanne. Of course that meeting never happened. Joanne then goes and gets a room? I remember reading that but I challenged that at the time, as we had no evidence of that. So if Joanne doesn’t get a room, and just drives back home, she doesn’t have Donna’s address with her to drive over there, so no way for her to contact Donna, except by phone? If she did get a room, spends the night, doesn’t want to drive back after the long drive. then she would still have nothing to do on Sunday, still can’t make contact with Donna, can’t leave a note for her at her place. Joanne knows Donna isn’t scheduled to be at work that day. So again nothing left for Joanne to do but drive home.
Now, if we’re saying Joanne never came up there on Sat, 9/6/70, wow that would change a lot of things. Donna’s story to her co-worker, why she brought the change of clothes, why she did change her clothes at her job, why she walked to work and left her car at home (if that happened). I recall after hearing that Donna left her car at her home, later on, that Donna’s mother when she came out to L. Tahoe, went to Sahara to retrieve Donna’s car. So that would change the story that donna had left her car at home and walked to work. We know Joanne does go up there with Donna’s sister, but I think that was like 2 week’s after the fact, once SLTPD has notified Joanne, or Donna’s family, that Donna is missing. that’s a whole separate trip. And I’ve never heard of Joanne making a trip like on Tues. or Wed., that would be 9/9 or 9/10, that wouldn’t make any sense. Donna was last seen on Sat 9/6, why would Joanne be going up there days later? Donna hasn’t been home since Sat. 9/6, so no way to contact her, like Joanne would do between Sat. 9/6, and Tuesday? 9/9, to say she’s coming.
I would think the only reason Nick Davis, the manager at Monte Verdi where Donna lives, would call Sahara at all would be in response to a call from Sahara. Why would Nick ever have a reason to call Donna’s work? When Donna doesn’t show up on Monday for work, then I can see Sahara contacting Nick probably on Tuesday 9/9/70.to do a security check on Donna. Very Strange….

This is right on South Lake Tahoe PD’s site mentioning the unknown male caller. Would they really list info that felt was not accurate?
http://www.cityofslt.us/index.aspx?NID=541Yes. There is more at that site that is not accurate. Her car wasn’t found in Stateline. And their listing of cold cases shows her missing date as the 23rd of September.
If that information in the report is accurate, show me the mysterious phone call? Neither her employer or her landlord got one.
Thanks, I hadn’t noticed that. When the police can’t get their own details right, that’s pretty scary

Didn’t Donna’s mother state that when she came out to S. Lake Tahoe, she drove Donna’s car back to Donna’s apt. from The Sahara? I recall something like that cause up until that time I’d always thought Donna’s car was always at her apt.

Would be nice to know what Donna’s days off were. Maybe it was mentioned. I can’t remember. Could be she wasn’t going to be working those next few days and that is why JoAnne was coming up then–JoAnne only said a day or two. So nothing was really "off" until Donna was supposed to be back, and even then it took a day or two before red flags REALLY waved.
And is does appear that her work did call Nick, and he replied, and out of concern called the SLTPD. Would certainly be the normal way of things.
Oh…in response to JoAnne getting a room. She did stay the night, but at a different place. Went back the next day and no one knew anything. Donna had only been at her new place one night and she didn’t have a phone yet. Nothing to do but go to her workplace and JoAnne said they weren’t very helpful.

Probably just misquoted somewhere. It was at her apartment.
