Sweet!!!

Department of Special Collections- Olin Library in St. Louis, MO. also has Manalli stuff. They sent me some electronic forms to fill out, which I did, and then they never got back to me. They have a copy of "Paradise, it’s a Nice Place" magazine article as well as correspondence Manalli had with Mona Van Duyn and Jarvis Thurston.

Here’s the link if anyone else wants to give it a shot… http://library.wustl.edu/units/spec/man … SS039.html

Is there a way I can view without having to download them? I’m on the work computer and can’t download anything unless it’s porn :)

I thought that the source of the majority of Manalli’s handwriting (which has been posted) was his correspondence with Curley. :?:

We have the Dan Curley papers. This is correspondence that dates from the late 1950’s up until the mid 1970’s when Manalli died. It’s over 300 pages, iirc. We have posted bits and pieces of it, primarily portions of the handwritten letters. The main reason we have not posted the Curley papers in their entirety is because I had to sign an agreement that I would not duplicate the letters without permission from the university. It’s a copyright situation and I don’t wish to test whether or not the university would take me to task for disobeying the terms of obtaining the letters.

However, I did make a copy of the entire body of work and gave it to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department. It was something that they never knew existed. Absolutely zero came of it though. There was quite a bit of provocative material that should have triggered some DNA testing against the DNA collected from Kim Allen, in particular, but as far as I know that was never done. I was told by the detective in charge of the SRHM cases at the time I sent the material that Manalli’s family was not willing to cooperate. Later I met with Manalli’s sister who told me that she had never been contacted by the sheriff’s office and did not know her brother was a suspect in the SRHM cases. She also said she was willing to give a DNA sample. I informed the detective currently in charge of the cases this and never heard back from him nor did Manalli’s sister.

To say that I am frustrated is an understatement. When I first published my website the detective in charge was open to participation by someone such as myself but he was promoted within a couple of years and no longer has any say so in the cold cases. The subsequent detectives abhor any "meddling" from the public and have been quite standoffish to me.

I do have another set of the Curley Papers and I would be willing to send them to another agency that might be willing to pursue a DNA test or official handwriting comparisons. From what I have experienced though is that the different police and sheriff’s departments are all talk and little action. They smile and take your information and nothing comes of it.

This may not be the proper place to post this but it does not deserve a thread of its own and there might be simple explanation which evades me because I am basically Facebook ignorant.

I found while doing a general Google search that our Fred has a FB page and whoever put it up used a picture of him that’s posted on this forum!
