Greetings. I have been following the postings on this site for some time. While I find many articulate, insightful, and intriguing, I don’t care for some of the sniping. With that being said, permit me to introduce myself by telling you my thoughts on the case which enslaves us all. I believe Cheri Jo Bates was an early Zodiac victim. I believe he only claimed her after Avery announced to the world the possible connection because he knew her and such an association really shrinks the possible suspect pool. Unlike apparently many here, I do not loathe Graysmith or his little "yellow book". Whatever you think of the man, there isn’t a one of us on here who hasn’t gotten here without reading that book. And while time has proved unkind to many factual aspects of the book, Graysmith was privy to many conversations with law enforcement – some aspects of which he may not have been able to print or elaborate on. I have no set suspect, though I am intrigued by Ross Sullivan. I do not believe Zodiac necessarily had military or police training. When one obsesses over something, they can become very well-versed in it, be it police procedurals, cryptography, or radians and pipe bombs. I must confess, the circumstantial evidence regarding Arthur Leigh Allen flummoxes me in light of the DNA and print testing. As such, the possibility of a "team" – as many in the NYPD believed the Son of Sam case to be – is not off the table for me. I have a theory that has been gestating inside my mind for some time, it involves the Stine murder. I will post it soon and you are all welcome to pick it apart. If I am correct, it ties Zodiac’s probable first and last known killings and clearly indicates a disturbing possibility.
