Hi there, wanted to post a brief introduction. This site is a wealth of information, and I’m well down the rabbit hole at this point. haha. I’m in my mid 20s, from Massachusetts. My first exposure to this case was early, when I was about nine or ten discovering a misplaced copy of Graysmith’s Zodiac book at the library and being attracted to the garish yellow cover. I knew my mom (despite being a true crime nut herself) wouldn’t allow me to check it out, so I stashed it in a forgotten reference section where I would return often and pore over the ominous ciphers, eerie letters, and ghostly composite sketches. Then I grew up, and forgot about the Zodiac crimes, while maintaining a casual interest in true crime and crime fiction. I saw the Fincher film when it came out, enjoyed it very much (with some reservations, I was a film student, and am an insufferable movie snob), and continued on with my life. Oddly enough, I’ve since become a cartoonist. I’m currently working on a true crime project (not about the Zodiac), so have been doing a lot of research into various unsolved homicides etc, mostly to get a feel for the vocabulary and complexities of a real investigation. Then I came upon this and other Zodiac sites, and my fascination with the grand-daddy of unsolved murder cases has grown stronger than ever. I look forward to learning more about this case and the investigation, I don’t know if I can bring anything particularly helpful to the table, but I have a pretty strong knowledge of 50s comic books and classic cinema, which are some of the things that particularly attract me to this case. Happy hunting!

Hi jaw.

Thanks for joining us. Great intro.

You could find yourself in worse company. I myself am a graphic designer, digital illustrator and wot-not, smithy is our Jonah Jameson, glurk our code guru and ZKDecrypto creator, doranchak our other code and cipher wiz, Zam and Sandy our Cagney and Lacey, seagull our archives hunter, quicktrader might be German but he’s in Austria, foreigner is another archives huntress and … foreign, AK is on the Unabomber’s tail, tahoe is sharp of mind and wit and keeps us in check …. "and then there’s morf" (insert appropriated theme tune) the founder and facilitator of our Z shaped playground. :D

If anyone feels I left them out it’s because I was starting to bore myself. lol.

Welcome jaw. I am sure your skillset will be of great value.

Trav.

I don’t know Chief, he’s very smart or very dumb.

Hi guys. Nope, unless you mean the activation email for this website.

Could it be that I’ve already become enmeshed in the dark, intriguing world of criminal conspiracies and shady investigations? Ergo, I submit that you were contacted not by me, but by the killer and/or by a cabal of killers, who, spurned on by rival so-called "investigators"(themselves working in cahoots with corrupt city officials [not to mention the murderer(s)!], deliberately muddying the waters of the investigation, thereby enabling the perpetrator to remain at large), have schemed not only to imitate me, ingratiating themselves to you and others in an effort to glean the secret, innermost details of your current findings, but also through nefarious psychological manipulations, to point the ongoing investigation towards time-wasting non-sequitors, irrelevant historical minutia, and red herrings, effectively "throwing off the scent" so that the killings may continue(yes, continue) unabated. Is it possible we’ve stumbled upon something they don’t want exposed, and now we desktop gumshoes have inadvertently woken a sleeping dragon[see: ‘Your Ass is Dragon’ 28 Apr, 1970] and that we are now finding ourselves in the sights of that deadly crosshair we have so long sought?
