Hello,

Nice to be a member of this site. My interest in this case goes back to pre-internet days, when I read the hardcover of Graysmith’s 1st book, probably the year it came out (1st year of high school). Later when the internet swept in and helped people connect and share more info, I remained kind of casual in my interest in the case, seeing that Graysmith’s books were definitely NOT the last word on the subject, and seeing a lot of new "interesting" theories and suspects develop.

Having lived in the Bay Area most of my adult life, I became a little more interested in the case again after my wife and I ended up buying a house and moving to Vallejo, of all places.

Currently I don’t have any favorite suspects. Actually, IMO I don’t think Zodiac was any of the previously named suspects, if we assume the main "confirmed" cases were all the act of one person only.

Hi there! Good to have you with us… :)

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

Thanks guys.

Also, interesting aside, when the Zodiac movie came out 10 years ago, I won a studio sponsored contest through LA Weekly to fly to SF and have a fancy lunch with Robert Graysmith(!). Living in Oakland at the time, I didn’t need a plane ticket for myself but they graciously paid for a friend of mine in LA to fly up and join us. Anyway, it was a pretty interesting lunch; by that time the internet had pretty much spoiled ALA as a suspect for me, and I politely brought the subject up: "you know, a lot of people say…". He kinda sidestepped the subject, and was really more interested in talking about other books he wrote or reminiscing about his time at the Chronicle. I also picked up that he wasn’t thrilled with the way Jake Gyllenhaal had portrayed him, but meeting him in person, I really thought Gyllenhaal had done a good job!
