Hello to my fellow Zodiac "fans"! (Not fans as in, "YAY! Zodiac killed innocent people!", but folks that have a genuine interest in the case, as well as interest in the possibility of unraveling who this person actually is/was.)

Little information about myself. My name is Ellie, and the first question I’m always asked after someone learns my name is, "Like Elly May Clampett from the Beverly Hillbillies?", and the answer is no. I’m very much aware that being born and raised in Kentucky, it should be a given that that is where my name comes from, but it’s not. Unfortunately, while Elly May Clampett was a very colorful character, and the actress that played her was very beautiful, she was written to be more of a compete moron. I do not own ‘critters’, nor under any circumstances would I ever move to Beverly Hills. Even if I were to hit the Powerball, that is possibly the last place on Earth that I would move. Just not my type of environment. Anyway, I did acquire my nickname from a TV show character. My given name is Ellen, but I’ve always been called Ellie after Ms. Ellie, Andy Taylor’s girlfriend, on ‘The Andy Griffith Show’.

Let’s see, what else? I’m a 32 year old single mother, born and raised in Louisville, KY. I’m the very proud mom of an 11 year old young man by the name of Alexander, after Alexander the Great. (I’m a TOTAL history nerd, too.) I’m still completely confused as to how I was so blessed to have a child as amazing as the one I have, I in no way deserve this amazing kid. :) But, I’d be dead if I didn’t have him. He’s the only thing I live for. I’m currently unemployed and have just recently been cleared by my doctor to be able to return to work after two years of feeling terrible and dealing with health issues that have finally, (and thankfully), been resolved. Prior to being sick, I was working in retail as a department manager for a large chain store.

I don’t have too many hobbies, and my interests are quite the range of topics. I became interested in serial killers as a child, and I still very vividly remember where it started. I was a very young girl, four or five years old, and watching the nightly news with my parents one evening, and there was a story out of California on Leonard Lake and Charles Ng. Since then, I’ve always done everything I can to get my hands on as much information regarding serial killers as I could. Another memory regarding serial killers is when I decided to write to Ted Bundy before his execution in 1989. Mind you, my mom (rightly so) informed me that in no way would my 7 year old self be sending anything at all to a man sitting on death row anywhere, serial killer or no. I do understand her position, but to this day, I do hold a tiny little grudge against her for it, though. How effin’ awesome would it have been to receive a letter from quite possibly the most known serial killer in American history?

But, I digress. And this ‘introduction’ is dragging entirely too long, so, lastly I’ll explain my interest in Zodiac. I think the case is absolutely amazing, while being dumbfounding at the same time. It’s almost as if a ‘perfect storm’ was created in the process of the killer committing these crimes. This person did everything that always leads to the capture of criminals involved in the same types of activity. He committed his crimes, not in the safety of his home or indoors at all for that matter, but outside. On lover’s lanes, in a taxi in the middle of a residential street, or right out in the open in a park. He made calls to the police station, giving directions to the bodies and shooting victims, instead of just waiting for the victims to be found. He sent the letters and ciphers to newspapers demanding they be printed. With the exception of Jack the Ripper nearly 100 years before, I cannot think of another case that police have as much evidence as this, and the perpetrator wasn’t captured. If I’m incorrect on this, please let me know. I love reading about these types of cases. And if you have any questions about me, feel free to ask, no matter what the topic. I pride myself in the fact that it’s nearly impossible to offend me. :)

I’m SO glad I found this forum, and am really excited to start exploring, and possibly contributing. Hope everyone has a great day, as well as a wonderful weekend. Thanks. :)

Hi Ellie!
You could have done worse than be named after the Beverly Hillbillies Ellie, I figure. Zodiac SURELY watched it, right?
Nice you’re aboard – please post any opinion/question or statement you like. We all do. ;)

Hi Ellie…welcome. I thought you were just telling us your last name was "Ellison"….. :)
