Do you think that a pregnant woman with an infant child would just stage the whole event? I think she got into a car and the driver refused to let her go until she had to jump out. I’m not sure that the kidnapper was Zodiac. I don’t think she made the whole encounter up. It’s hard to say whether she encountered Zodiac or not. Again, Zodiac seems to only be able to take credit for crimes that never get solved. So, how he is so prescient is beyond me. I think the simplest explanation is that he is telling the truth.
And no one on here has presented any evidence that Kathleen lied. People claim that it’s unlikely that the perpetrator would return to her car, find the tire, and drive it and then burn it. However, according to the police reports her tire never came off. It remained attached by one lug nut. And I have not seen anything to suggest that the perpetrator drove her car afterwards (correct me if I am wrong). He merely returned to it and set it on fire. The question is why would the Zodiac take credit for it if he didn’t do it? Has he claimed crimes he didn’t commit? And what are the chances of the Zodiac looking like Kathleen’s attacker?

No one knows for certain whether Kathleen lied or not. Frankly, it’s not unlikely for a perpetrator to do those things but the behavior of the perpetrator, is not the behavior of the zodiac.
It’s bizarre. Zodiac’s known attacks were bizarre and inscrutable. Whoever it was, they were pretty dangerous.

I agree. The good Samaritan turned arsonist theory is totally viable. The other day I helped a woman change her car tyre, she didn’t thank me, so I robbed her house and poisoned her dog.

Well, Zodiac also disclaimed responsibility for a bombing. So, he didn’t just take credit for any crime.
If you believe that Zodiac planned crimes around astronomy, it’s significant that Johns was abducted Sunday, March 22, 1970. The spring equinox was two days earlier.
Likewise, Officer Radetich was murdered on Friday, June 19, 1970, two days before the summer solstice.
Zodiac was a screwup. He left behind five breathing victims, two survivors, bootprints, possibly fingerprints and palmprints, tiretracks, eyewitnesses, and earwitnesses. If the APB had gone out for a WMA he would have been locked up in ’69.
