Its interesting to note that the last arrest on Kane’s rap sheet, just four months before the first Zodiac murders, is an arrest for ‘Prowling.’ Was he starting to ‘Prowl’ for victims in August of 1968 down in Redwood City?

With an arrest record like that, I’m surprised he had any military involvement. He must not have had much.
As far as I am aware T, he was in the Navy and served during WWII, which was, obviously, in the early 1940’s. He had no criminal convictions prior to 1946 so at the time he was serving in the Navy, he would have been clean. Only after leaving the Forces does his criminal life seem to begin.

Dahl was from Norway and came to the US in the 1920’s. He shows up on a 1930 census as being married and living with his in-laws. Wife Edna M. nee Heins. By the 1940 census it is just Dahl and his wife. Both censuses have him living in Orangetown, Rockland, New York. His occupation is floor finisher. In 1953 he and his wife show up in a Santa Barbara city directory. He is living at the Dahl Apartments, I’m assuming he is the owner. The 1972 Santa Barbara city directory says he is retired and he and his wife are at a different address than the apartments.
That is actually quite interesting thinking about it. Isn’t another Zodiac suspect an immigrant from Norway, having come to the States in 1929 by the name of Kjell Qvale? Kjell, like Kane, was an auto salesman. (Kane at one time was a car salesman in the Bay area according to one report I have read)

9-5-1964, do you know if he was actually arrested twice in the same day??? Also arrested 9-5-1959. Probably just a coincidence. Any Zodiac events fall on a Sept. 5th? I’m too tired to look

I’ve uploaded the arrest sheet so you can have a look. But yes, on 9-5-64 he was arrested twice it seems, once in Oak Brook, IL, then again in Wheaton, IL.
